Saw A Yellow Lightning Testing In The Desert (Pics Added)

Went to Laughlin NV for some fun and while cruising on the Bullhead City AZ side of the river, we ran into a caravan of new Ford trucks doing some testing. There were three new 2004-style trucks with heavy camouflage all towing large enclosed trailers. The last truck was a 2003 style yellow lightning. It was towing a flat bed trailer with a large wind resistance screen and heavy weights on it. The Lightning was very dirty and dull but definitely looked good, and I don’t really care for yellow vehicles. The front wheels were completely black with brake dust. The Lightning had some stickers around the gas filler door and on other body panels but I couldn’t get close enough to read them. We took some video and digital pics, but in our haste, they came out really ccrappy.

Just upload them to a photo gallery on f150online and link them in a post. Its a breeze especially using the vB Code feature just above where you type your text.

Someone had posted some spy photo's a while back that showed a yellow lightning. I thought we might see one in either 03 or 04. But since we may not have an 04, this may have been put on the back burner. My wife wants to be the owner of the first yellow L. The right color of yellow and it would look good.

I think that's one of SVE's 'work trucks'. It spends most of the time in Michigan, but I haven't seen it around lately. It's had wheels from every year and tailights from the '01 at one time or another. I believe it's a 2000 and was originally black.

Most likely they're painted L wheels. They seem to do this prior to model introduction when there's going to be a wheel change. I guess the black paint hides them from curious eyes. There was a black '02 with black painted '03 wheels early last summer kicking around Dearborn. They've also experimented with powdercoated wheels from time to time.
