ATTN:Spanky99L or anyone else who installed XM

I'm trying to install my antenna and I had a few questions:

WTF do I have to do to get the damn wires through the 3rd brake light?!?!? I don't want to pull on the white plug looking thing, but it seems like that is my only option.

How did you prep the roof for the mounting of the antenna?

Any other pointers are appreciated as well.

I drilled a hole, **** that grommet i couldn't get it to move. So yea I drilled a small hole next to the grommet and silicone-ed it up good. For the roof just clean it good so the tape sticks good, maybe use something that takes off the wax, just in that area?

i pulled out the white plug thing, notched it with
a razorblade,ran the wire through .
they give you a prep pad with the antenna,i used
prepsol ,if you dont have anything you can use
rubbing alcohol ,push down good on the antenna
it has the rubber gasket around it,you need to push it
down good so the 2face tape makes good contact.
someone had pics with the headliner dropped,i didnt
touch mine, just ran the wire through the brake light
and reached behind the headliner and grabbed them.

enjoy

Thats where i ran mine through. I just pushed min in towards the cab pushed the wires through then pulled it back. here is a pic:

With the antenna comes a little pad with alcohol on it. use that to clean the surface. I didn't tack mine down til everything else was installed. I also took my headliner down and unhooked the D-ring for the seat belt and took off the plastic piece by the d-ring. To take down the headliner you have to unscrew 3 bolts in the dome light and it will just fall and give you about 2 feet of room

More pics are in my gallery

I have the head liner out, as well as EVERYTHING else in my cab. Except the dash.... Gotta love that Brown Bread.

So you PUSHED the grommet INTO the cab? Hmmmm. I'll go try that.

My antenna didn't come with any pad or anything, just the antenna itself.

I also pushed in the rubber gromit and notched it. Then put it back in place once the wires were ran. Finished it up by putting silicone around the wires to fill in the notch, so no water gets in. Use rubbing alcohol to prep the area for the antenna.
