Talking plans have changed

No more nitrous for me (I was planning it for this summer). Hopefully I will be able to leave my L alone (mod-wise) for a while. After getting the rest of the bolt-ons (single-blade TB, t-bars, slicks, d/s loop) I'm going to leave her alone performance-wise. I'll do a mild stereo and some interior/appearance items but nothing big. Maybe a little dabble in suspension but again, I'll probably spend less than 2500 on my truck all-together. No bling bling rims for me. No fifty-dollar billet buttons and *****. Just comfy seats, expy console, a mild stereo, and some trick suspension.

BUT NO NITROUS

Instead I will be saving up my clams for a built motor and monster box . I figure 5 grand or so should cover it. However, even w/ it built, I won't be slapping on a new blower or anything. Maybe go to a 6#er or something mild. I just want a reliable solid 11 second daily driver. (so maybe I will end up spraying it.)

It's 1:36 and I'm just a bit excited about what I have in store for myself and my truck. Of course I could always just sell one of the other two cars I have but I always believed that anyone who wants a nice car should have a daily driver/winter beater. To me, something like my Altima is part of the maintenance of owning something like a Lightning.

Good thing about all this? I'm 19 (I have many many years ahead of me!) Bad thing? No J-O-B. I is a poor college student

Oh yeah, and I'm putting off my Bronco project. I've been looking to scoop up a older Bronco to toy with suspension stuff but I don't think I will.

I hear ya bro, sometimes I am glad that I am a college student and don't have that much money. At least by not having that much money and still spending it all on the truck, I spend less than if I HAD money and spent it all on the truck. Must be that 12:00 AM logic

It sure is fun to spend imaginary money that you do not have!

I just picked up a 89 Bronco XLT two weeks ago for my winter beater/Mountain Man vehicle. I don't really know anything about them, and would love to hear any ideas that you have on it.

We'll have to hook up sometime when I get home (Shelbyville, IN)
I think I remember you saying you went to Purdue

Oh, well. Back to the garage to work on the truck.............

mos def. I'd love to take a peak at your stereo system. And yes I go to Purdue.

As far as the Bronco went, I was going to pick up either a 302 or a 351. I don't think I will though just because I can't sacrifice the Japanese reliability of my Altima over a Bronco that I would have to spend some money on.

As for the plans, I was going to go with basically a lift and bigger tires. I've had friends do that whole deal and was always interested in lifted trucks. Personally I feel a good 4 inch suspension/3 inch body would suffice for my needs. That and a set of MT Super Swamper 35s. There's a lot more that goes with the whole setup but I never drew up any wishlists for parts, etc.

If/when you get back in town, give me a ring cyntaxx@yahoo.com

Stick with the college thing, go as mong as you can get someone else to pay for it.

I've been poor and I guess i'm more or less "affluent" now, and after being both, I just have one thing to say...

POVERTY SUCKS!!!

But I wouldn't trade it for the world....

Cyntaxx -
I've been rethinking my stereo path tonight a bunch and I think I'm gonna sell 2 of my 10's, and get a thunderform box. If you are interested in anything, let me know.
