Morning Start Up Noise Found and Fixed !

Just got a call from my service advisor. After starting
and listening to the truck for a while, they (FORD)
advised him to replace the S/C. Soooo, I am getting
a new S/C tomorrow. Hope the noise goes away! <GRIN>
Only wish he would let me JB Weld the holes before he
puts it on, but I guess that is asking too much from a
FORD dealer huh?

Christine is down in the body shoppe again, having the
rework on her paint. I should be driving again in a few.
I have driven for one week since November the 5th ... I
need a Lightning Fix ... HA HA ...

Why not ask them for a credit for the money the new blower costs and use it on a KB or Works

I wish ... Think they would warranty that? HEH HEH ...
One thing he did say is that FORD is telling him that they
are seeing a lot of Lightnings in the past few weeks
with the squeal/rattle/squeak on cold startups. Hopefully
this will fix it ... It is quite disturbing when your truck makes
strange noises in the morning.

Here are the pics of my stock blower, when I had it off, at about 36,000 miles.

Iam no Perry Mayson, but you filled the four "noise/whine" reduction ports in your old blower. Now it makes a noise on cold start ups? Wonder what the Ford rep will say when he see's the four "noise/whine" reduction holes filled up on a blower that was warrantied for "noise"

........whew........

fast gator

He was saying he wishes they would let him. His blower is untouched and makes noises. Because he wants MORE blower whine =)

SVT,

I had a wonderful start for the first 5-6 months, then the noises started. You name it, I got it. Mine ticks, taps, rattles, raps, whistles and screams on a cold morning. Some seconds later, it's all better
