Is anybody running four gausges 3 pod 1 on column. I was thinking about running oil pres, trans temp, oil temp, boost, and either a/f or water temp. What would you guys put in or do you have in your L.

Here's some random thoughts.

Just get a single temp gauge and an extra sender. You can then switch between tranny and oil temp by flipping a switch. I am thinking of a 3-way tranny/oil/diff temp gauge.

Never been a fan of the oil pressure gauge. If you read low pressure, what exactly are you going to do about it? The stock gauge will tell you if the pump is going bad or the bearings are wearing out by flickering at idle.

A/F gauges are worthless unless you get the ones at www.gadgetseller.com. Even then, many will say that they are still worthless.

What's wrong with the stock water temp gauge?

If you have a modded engine, fuel pressure is an important gauge.

On my stock L, I currently have tranny, oil, and diff temp gauges, with a boost guage for the column pod. I am thinking of the 3-way switch described above, filling the new holes with intake air and fuel pressure or a modded A/F. The last three are for future use in evaluating engine mods.

i know boost is mechanical but what should the rest be electric or mechanical. I like the idea of the switch where can i pick one of those up?Finnally decided on intercoolerwater temp, oil temp, trans temp and boost on steering. How can i get them to light up green like the dash in the truck.

i got the autometer white face and they come with a rubber boot that goes over the light bulb in the back, one red and one green, the green matches pretty well....i went with ele easier to mount and safer if your gonna tap the oil line, with mechanical your gonna have oil in the cab..

Keep oil, tranny, and fuel lines OUT of the cab. The alternative could prove rather unpleasant.

If you take a blue "Sharpie" to make a 1/8" 'X' at the top and down the sides of the bulbs then slip the green boot over the top, it better matches the dash lights.

yes my tranny is ele, and i just purchased an fuel and coolant ele, so the my coolant would be equivalent to your i\c temp...

the temp guage for the i\c, i have seen, taped into the cap for the i\c, i would probally have it stick as far down into the tank as possible so the swirling of the coolant, when on, would not give false readings, but come out the top so as not to cause a leak..just just my .02....

late'

Mechanical boost is easier to install. Everything is under the dash. Don's Bolt did an electric boost gauge.

what do you mean by 'range?'
