I know this isn't south Florida, but I just got an email reply yesterday (sent out first week of December, so a little late now!) from World Ford Pensacola that they were authorized to sell 1 Lightning on x-plan. He had just received a Dark Shadow Gray. That was the color I wanted, so they may have others as well. If your interested, search for their contact information or email me and I'll forward you the email.

Gus Machado in Hialeah was the only one willing to deal here in Miami when I purchased mine in Sept. 01. You might try calling them. Good Luck...............You are now entering the twilight zone

I bought my L from Wayne Akers Ford in Lake Worth. Great people to deal with, and they have more specialty vehicles (SVT, Roush...etc.) than any dealer around.

Marrone Ford on Federal Hwy in Ft Lauderdale is also good to deal with.

World Ford will NOT deal.................MSRP and that's it..........no questions asked..........at the end of a model year, you may get lucky and get $1k off MSRP, but that's it...........definitely not now with the introduction of the '03

Gus Machado will deal with you, because none of the salesmen have a clue as to what a Lightning is.............plus, I'll congratulate you firsthand if you find a salesman there that speaks English.......GOOD LUCK ON THAT!!!! And, if you have a TRADEIN, forget Gus Machado...........they will try and rape you OZ-STYLE!!

I bought my '01 in November of '01, at Maroone Ford in Margate..........good sales staff, knowledgeable, and I was able to get top dollar for my trade (and then some), $1K off MSRP, free bedliner, and free first oil change.............I was happy

good luck nonetheless,
JC

I purchased mine for $1k under msrp from http://www.charlottecountyford.com
They are located in SouthWest Florida, if you do not mind a drive... just under two hours west/north of Fort Lauderdale via I-75. All the other dealers I went to or called said $5k over msrp if they had any in stock (most did not).
Also got 0 down and 0% intrest! Other dealers said that did not aplly to SVTs. I did not trade anything in.
I did a search and Charlotte County Ford does have a Red 03 and DSG 03 in stock. Ask for Gordon Meitz, he is a real good guy to deal with.
Here is their Inventory

I did not know about the X plans back then, I'm sure you can do better with one of those.

Good luck!

I got my 02 True Blue at Marrone Ford on Federal Hwy in Ft Lauderdale back in April of 02 on X-Plan. They were great to deal with! Give them a call!

I bought my 02 from Plantation Ford on X-plan. I paid 28,830.38 plus, tax tag and title. Good Luck. Oh, make sure you check the numbers real close and don't let them add anything to it on X-plan. Watch for the old we etched the windows, or there is a get ready fee. BS, NOT ON X-plan. Hope this helps.

Ive already tried to buy an 03 on the xplan down here, and alls ive been able to accomplish is getting them to give me more on my trade, and msrp on the L.. the reasoning ive been getting is that its going to be a short run this year on L's so no one wants to deal.. i think its greed though

Wow! Perfect topic for me since this is what I spent the last 3 months doing lol!

Hopefully it should payoff february 17, 2003 with the arrival of a white 2003 Lightning, under X plan

I'm getting the lightning from world ford kendall (us1 between SW 152nd street and 160 st)

Stay away from Coral Gables ford. Definitely the worst ford dealer on the face of the planet. They have a market adjustment of 5K on the Svt's. Imagine walking out paying 41,500 after taxes LoL!

Maroone Ford Ft. Lauderdale told me msrp if I pay for it before it arrives, and 2k over msrp if I buy it off the showroom floor. World ford in pembroke pines told me yes to x plan also but the kendall one is much closer to me. All the other SVT dealers i called within an hour or so gavea a resounding hell no to X plan on the 03.

Bought mine at Sawgrass Ford for under 33,000. Forgot the total but that was sticker price. No markup and they were pretty good. As far as getting service done, Maroone Ford on Federal is great, no questions, just warranty everything, no problems.
