which is better buying a higher octane at the pump or buying cheaper and buying an octane booster later? Is there a difference?

I would get the higher octaine at the pump. I am not a big fan of octaine boosters, they either discolor, or foul the plugs.

octane boosters dont work, and if you want to boost octane use toulene or xylene

I would stay away from xylene as an octane booster as it's flash point and distillation range isn't hot enough. Toluene up to about 10% will work good as an octane booster and the percentage will depend on how heavily modded the engine is.

Just spend the extra .10 at the pump and treat your baby right

I use 94 Octane and I add a tube of Pensoil octane booster. The winters here in Michigan are pretty cold it was about 5 below last night. This conbo stops the detination and plane old spark knock.

Its a good thing somebody around here knows how to use the search function

I like Mike T, answer on octane boosters...........

Its just as easy to remove the chip as it is to pour a bootle of booster in your truck. Excellent advice, just burn the bad tank of gas up and slide the chip back in
