Custom Billet Gas Cap done! pics inside.

Well I got the gas cap back this morning and I'm still trying to figure out what to do with it. During the engraving process the layer on top that covered the cap came off and now the bolt section looks weird, I might either sand it all down or paint the cap red to match my truck now. Tonight I experitment and figure it out, anyway it looks cool to me.

Turned out good bro.

At least now if another red L parks next to you, you can easily identify yours now

How about powder coating it red.

Looks good either way

I'm thinking maybe painted the RTKILLA and bolts red only and leaving the rest polished?

Looks Cool.

Is it me or is the lightning bolt going the wrong way?

Gas Cap

Hey bro,

If I was you man, I would paint it. I think that would look awesome. It looks cool anyway, but I think matching the color of your truck would add a nice touch to it. I'm not a huge fan of the billet polished or brushed cap, but that's just my opinion. I think it would look good painted.

Show pics when you do what you with it!!

What do you guys think I should sand with to paint it? I'm going to through a coat of primer on tonight for my body guy to make it easier on him.

definitely wet sand it, by hand of course,

Primer at least with two coats.

I woud go with 600 grit, because I would be afraid to pit the finish with a lower grit.

I'd try that though

Well I'm working on polishing the areas that got screwed up right now and they might not look so bad, so I'll post picks in a few mintues when I'm done. I did 4000 grit wet sand and now some 200mph cleaner so we'll see.

I don't think it looks that good still.

How would having it chrome plated turn out?

you could always bling it and chrome it, now that would be good. if you cant get the finish where you want it, chrome it, that would be your quickest and probably a sweet looking finished product..

CHROME IT

man, i just looked at some of your pics of the RT KILLA, yeah, with the chrome wheels, definitely chrome it.....and if you could, probably never heard of someone doing this though, but i would, since it's not installed, have it clear coated since it is going to be a high use item on your vehicle....such as: dirty fingers, crap getting on it, ruining the finish.....i had forgotten your truck had chrome on it, i think that would set if off nicely and not to gawdy.....
