Why you should clay bar

I have read a few guys asking about clay bars, so here's my
2 cents worth. This is a good way to determine if your paint needs to be clayed.

1. Wash and dry your truck.
2. Put your hand inside a plastic sandwich bag and run it over the paint with your fingertips.
3. You will most likely feel the imperfections in the paint, they will feel like small grains of sand or debris.
4. If you can feel this, you should clay the paint.

Before you clay, remember to wash your truck with Dawn dishsoap. This is the only time to wash with dishsoap because it strips the wax off the paint. Then clay the paint and re-wax. You will not believe the difference if you have never done this before. Now take the plastic bag and run your fingertips over th epaint again. Even on the brand new trucks you will feel the imperfections. Ok, so please no flaming, just trying to be helpful.

You are more dedicated then I. During the winter, no washing from myself, the shop does it. Come warm spring, it gets my two day overhaul where I clean, check and lube everything.
