Clay Bar a New L?

Have my 03 L sittin in the drive-way clean from a good wash. Just wondering if anyone would recommend taking a clay bar to it before I wax it. I have one I recieved in a cleaning package and have never used one before.

I don't think you need too or should do that. If your paint feels really rough than you might but since its brand new I don't believe you would need to do it.

I clayed mine before the first wax. It came to Texas on a train so I wanted to get all the fallout and brake dust off of the paint before it could do any damage.

i believe they are all transported by train from canada. so that rail dust gets in there pretty good, i clayed mine after i thought it was super clean and took off a bunch more of this redish blackish dust, on a black truck. so i think if you have the time its a good idea.

I had a bad experience with my 96 cobra and little pits in the clear coat. The pits showed up after about a month of having the car and continued to get worse. They ended up repainting the car, I would rather forgo that process with the Lightning.

I would clay bar it right before I waxed it. I clayed my L last year and was impressed with the results. It really makes the paint slick!

Clayed it. Didnt pull much up. I would recommend to someone in a similar predicament to just do the front of the truck.

Waxing it now. Approaching hour 4 of the truck cleaning experience. Still need to finish waxing half the truck, buff wax, shine tires, clean windows, and clean up over spray/wax. :o
