Question Carbon Fiber hood>???

Any thoughts or ideas on these for our trucks>??? I am still in need for one so......it is either: Cervinis, Carbon fiber, or a navi front conversion. My truck is black and that is the only reason I am considering the carbon fiber. If it was a different color it would be out of the question. Anyone know who offers one and how much>??? Thanks. -Mat-

The only carbon fiber hood that I know of is APC's, and it's not real CF. It's CF layed over fiberglass. Still heavier than the stock aluminum hood. APC's quality is also dubious.

see the APC hood @ www.stylinconcepts.com

Edit: DGM motorsports also makes a CF hood. Not sure on weight. I think Jamie (bagged01L) has one.

i believe the CF hood from DGM weighs about the same as the stock hood if not more. but it's still a trick piece.

dunno about quality of DGM but I would stay away from anything APC.

I also have the DG Motorsports CF hood. There is no weight savings, as the stock hood is aluminum. The quality is excellent, and took about an hour to install. I know someone else with one also and his is perfect too. It was $800 delivered.

I've been pondering the Kaminari hood myself, they don't have any shots of the underside. I wanted to know if I get more clearance with it or not. I'm hoping up updrage to a 140/210 works in the future, and I need the clearance...

Maybe I'll just take the plunge and pick it up.

I hope so Dan, you got to get into the 400/500 club. They only allow good looking peeps like myself and Don's Bolt to join. But I will speak up for you azz

I believe this is the DGM:

and IMHO, I think the Carbon Fiber on different colors looks nice, but you HAVE to paint the edges and it gives a "window" effect. just slapping a carbon fiber hood on any color INCLUDING BLACK makes it look unfinished. from a distance looks like you got a junkyard hood and bolted it on. just my .02.

here's a nice looking saleen hood with the edged/surrounded in body color look I'm speaking of:
