Should I stop using synthetics?

I'm storing my truck up for the winter and was about to change my oil today. I don't know if I should keep using synthetics since my truck is over 70K miles. Is there some point where its best to stop using synthetic oils? If so, what weight oil are you guys using? Just curious..

Thanks!

I don't see any reason to stop. I ran the stuff in my 95 cobra right up until I traded it for the Lightning. 130K miles, and never had a valve cover off.

BTY, I changed to 10W30 at about 20k. In the colder climates, you might want a 5w30. I don't like the idea of running a 5w20 in any performance application. It is just too light an oil for a heavy load and higher RPM.

I never thought about not using synthetics. I have 89K and 3 race seasons under my belt and am happy to report Suavy is still runing great!

It's the opposite way. In trucks with less miles say brand new till 30,000 miles they say your not suppose to run synthetic. the ultra lubracation properties cause rings not to seat properly. This was in the road racing world of super bikes. It's different for car engines though. Ford uses it so why not?

well, if you burn oil then adding a synthetic will only make this worse being that synthetic oil is slippery enough to get by a worn ring. otherwise use it forever, it helps a lot to keep your engine in tip top

Another vote for staying with synthetic. Heck, I heard Gator uses alot of synthetic things around the house, even the bedroom

I ran synth on my mustang on engine trans and rear and ran the quickest times. Never had a problem even with high mileage.
