An open letter to Sal from PSP
Sal,
I would like to give you my most great thanks for coming to Houston and giving our club what we needed and wanted. I appreciate the time and patience you showed from the time I picked you up at the airport, until the time I returned you to the airport.
I would like to apologize for working you like a slave; those 16-hour days can be a real pain! I'm amazed at the happy, calm, patient and VERY informative attitude you were able to show... even after being in the shop for over 16 hours... amazed!
I THANK YOU Sal, HALO THANKS YOU : D
For the rest to know...
Day 1
Sal arrived at 5:45pm Thursday evening in Houston Texas. Sal and I then ventured to my home via the craziness of the Houston freeways, arriving at 6:15pm. I advised Sal that the fun would now begin, we left my house at 6:30pm for Hooters! Upon arrival at Hooters, Sal was "captured" by NoelVM, this would show me Sals "real" patience
Sal chatted with Noel almost all evening at hooters, by the time we left, Noel was HAPPY, and ready for a new program on his PSP chip. I'm glad you finally came around Noel. We were worried about you... Bob Carpenter asked if anyone was in the mood to play some pool at a local pool hall, Sal advised me that he would LOVE to play some pool, even though he has already had a nice long 11 hour day. Sal, along with several members from HALO played pool for a couple hours before going home to rest up for the big day at Racing Solutions Inc.
Day 2
6:30am, alarm buzzing, the adventure begins LOL
8:00am, we arrive at Racing Solutions Inc, (the fun begins!) Andre (1badTK) advises of our "planned" itinerary. We will start with 2, 03 cobras, and then do all the lightning's for the day. We "planned" to do 13 vehicles total, however the day would end with only 11 done. Sal provided an AMAZING amount of information, answered EVERY question he was ever asked, and never once acted tired, or annoyed, or bored. At 12:30am, we decide we have had enough for the day, and hope we have not "burned" out Sal LOL. A mere 14 hour day comes to an end... we pray the next day be easier (yea right!)
Day 3
6:30am, alarm buzzing, the adventure continues
8:00am, we arrive again at Racing Solutions Inc, Andre (1badTK) advises of our "revised" planned itinerary. We manage to get a quicker pace going, and it shows by 12:00pm that we "could" complete the task today... Sal continues dyno-ing, and programming, programming and dyno-ing.. A vicious cycle that would last 16.5 hours! During the 16th hour of tuning, Sal is STILL just as happy, courteous, and informative as he was when he got off the plane! Sal goes out of his way to make sure that EVERYONE who leaves the dyno is MORE than happy with the results he has made for them. Day 3 comes to an end. However all is NOT done. Ouch. Another day will come.
Day 4
6:30am, alarm buzzing, the expedition pushes on...and on, and on and on and on... would this ever end!
8:00am, we arrive again at Racing Solutions Inc, we are excited at the prospect of a nice easy short day.. only 3 trucks to do today! (I'm sure you can figure how this turns out) Andre (1badTK), chuck (wyldman), myself and terry hinkle line up behind the shop to get our trucks tuned by the best! Terry asks Sal if he can get a dyno and tune done, even though he had not been involved in the dyno to begin with. Sal advised Terry that he would be MORE than happy to tune Terry's truck as well. Just like solders, the trucks kept marching one by one to the dyno, Sal stayed happy, energetic, and informative... (I'm beginning to think we have worked him way too much and that he must be in a delusional state.. I was!) At 3:00pm, a few hours after we "thought" we would be done, Sal advises Mike (chillfactor), that he would be GLAD to tune his 03 cobra. Sal worked on Mike's cobra from 3:00pm until after 6:00pm. Sal found out that mikes cobra was "breaking up" on the dyno.. the research as too why began. Sal found that Mike had the wrong plug, with the wrong gap installed... someone had not been truthful with Mike, those plugs were NOT supposed to be there! Sal pulled all the plugs on the cobra, re gapped them, re dynoed mikes car, and VOILA, made MORE power and the Car ran LOADS better! Mike (chillfactor) was AMAZED! Sal and I return to my home around 9pm, the end of a 12-hour day...
All told, Sal tuned over 26 vehicles, SEVERAL had some "oddities" that required special attention, Sal never acted tired, or bothered, he happily said, lets look at this, lets try that, and then, are YOU 100% happy?
Amount of hours spent with Sal at the dyno 42.5 hours!
Sal, you are a gentleman and a friend; HALO was fortunate to have someone like yourself as our guest. I cannot wait until we get to see you again, this time I promise we will not work you like a dog.
THANKFULLY yours,
Shane McAlister (MadNess)

Thanks HALO
I would also like to thank all the guys from HALO, for bringing me down, and giving me the opportunity to tune everyone's trucks.
I had a great time, I did not mind the long hours at all, I just wanted everyone to have the best possible running trucks that could possibly be. I am very glad that MANY people immediately hit the tracks on Friday and Saturday after their tuning and ran much improved personal bests, as well as winning a few bracket trophies with newfound consistancy. That's what it's all about. If it can't be fun, then it's not worth it. I was very pleased with every aspect of the trip, and look forward to coming down again sometime. RSI was just about the nicest shop I've seen, and I am very glad to meet those guys, and it looks like we might even get involved with them.
I would like to personally thank a few people too.
Thanks to Shane and his lovely wife for letting me stay at their home.
Thanks to Andre for setting it all up and keeping things going smooth.
Thanks to Bob Carpenter for the airline tickets (I really enjoyed Southwest BTW), as well as the company for dinner each night.
Thanks to Mike Anderson and his lovely wife for getting me lunch each day, for letting me tune both his Lightning and Cobra, and for the pleasurable overall company all three days.
And thanks to everyone else for a great time.

I was just sick that I did not have my 03 in time for Sal to tune it (then he could have worked 17.5 hour days). It was still worth the 360 mile round trip just to meet him though. I had a bunch of questions I wanted to ask him but he was just to busy!
Did I read you are coming back to Texas for FFW? I've never been to one but somehow I'm going to make it this year.

What a great post to read. HALO sounds like quite a group. It's because of responses like this that I called Sal's wife Lisa this morning and ordered a chip for my new 03L. Already having his filter and pulley I can't wait to try his programs. Welcome back Sal and get crackin' on those new chips
