Thanks MRBBQMAN
Took the advice on places to eat while in Nawlins. I did Smilies (wasn't expecting white tablecloths at a place with that name);
Garces (great cheap cuban sandwich); R&O (first time to a combo seafood & pizza parlor...loved the platter of fried seafood, especially the softshell crab).
I found a place on my own that had an awesome oyster dish. After eating a dozen raw I ordered their charbroiled oysters. The most awesome cooked oyster dish ever! I will go back to Drago's for that dish everytime in New Orleans!
Thanks for the great food recommendations. Your city doesn't hold second fiddle to NY, San Fran or anywhere else when it comes to food. All you guys need is some Kansas City BBQ and you would be set.

glad you could make it to some of the local eateries. Smilie's has both a cafeteria (eats) side, and a tablecloth (dining) side. if i'd know you to be an oyster lover, i'd have certainly recommended Drago's, as you now know their charbroiled variety, is legendary. no one leaves Nawlins hungry
