No problem, lemme ask you a question if you don't mind. I read everywhere its a 1/8th mile track, but everyone says its actually a 1/4 track they just are not NHRA sanctioned or whatever. If you know i would like to know. thanks

Steele is 1/4 mile.

There should be a few imports in the 11's / 12's there for grudge matches. I bet there will be far more F-Bodies and Mustang's though.

I will be there in the Lightning.

Hope you can make it down.

It might be to cold for traction and ME! But I would like to see
a new time slip for 2003.

Last couple of times I was at Steele there was no one working at the starting line or in the lanes and people watching lined up on the walls of the track. Pretty much a free-for-all. Kind of fun though.

Wish I could make it down this Sunday. Just started pulling my motor though for some winter upgrades. I'm going to put on head studs and port my blower. Hopefully hit the track again in a few weeks.

The track use to be IHRA and 1/4 mile. Last time I was there
with a friend of mine (PRO MOD World Champion of 1995) the
Track was falling apart. The finish line or before was leaking
water up on to the surface. Someone said it was a stream
I don't think they fixed it so it's 1/8. The web site says 1/8.

Steele is running 1/4 mile. I ran there two weeks ago, the track is not too bad. They had some VHT down. Probably about 100 cars some of which were in the 9's. There is a section at the end of the right lane shut down that needs repaired, but it is easy to avoid after you have made a pass. $10 to spectate or race.

I have been to Commerce and Reynolds and they are first class, but Steele is not too bad in the winter. No spectators to amount to anything, just a lot of racers. The worst time is mid summer, too many cars tracking water on the track and not much supervision, too many people near the walls of the starting line.

They won't ask you where your helmet is when you run 12's or where your cage is for 11's.

The photo of my truck below was taken there 2 weeks ago.
