Going with 4lber without chip
Interesting Topic
I have found (with 4 different chips & 2 differnet vendors) that they all seem to have detonation under some circumstance, while with the stock program I have never had detonation even with mods on. I am beginning to think the stock program is either very, very conservative or is pretty effecient at handling (minor)mods.

Keep in mind before you take the chance of going boom, get yourself a mobile wideband setup for testing. Remember, the dyno cannot be declared accurate because the second your truck steps off the dyno, your load and outside variables change. You can easily go up one full point in A/F off the dyno on real full 100% street load.
Get an autotap for data logging and a wideband. You will know EXACTLY where you stand in real world conditions. Its all about be safe. Never want to be guessing.

Just my FYI.
I have a PSP #4 pulley installed now on top of an already installed JLP chip.
I did not have the chip reburned, and have never heard nor experienced any detonation.
This doesn't make any sense to me, but that's how things are in my case.
The dealership who installed the pulley was going to detune my chip at the time, but their dyno was broken and couldn't do it then.
I had scheduled an appointment to have it done, but after driving for a couple of weeks of driving in 30 -40 degree weather and hearing nothing, I decided to hold off.
This must be the exeption, and not the norm.
I'm really not sure.

Stormyday
I ran my 01 on a local dyno last week when the air temp was slightly less than 50 degrees. The only mods I had are Denso IT 22s, a K&N filter, and a 3" hose in the bottom of the stock box going to cold air. My A/F ratio was between 12.5 and 12. 356hp and 420 torque. My conclusion is that for my truck a dual program (or more) chip is need for any pulley in cold weather. I also think that the added advance a second program could have would be useful in warm weather if you have a pulley.
