Question Base Dyno Run

I’m thinking of running my stock truck to get base numbers on a chassis dyno. But what benefit would it be to me than just to have base numbers? Would this give me something I could give my tuner when I put in a chip for them to tune to? Would this help them out at all? After I put a chip and a pulley in I will put it on a dyno to get my chip tuned right, but just to get base numbers I’m not sure it would benefit? Just trying to save money for more mods!

I'd go for it. I'm sorry I didn't dyno mine 'stock'. It won't cost but $60-100??? They should be able to use a tail pipe wand to register your stock air/fuel ratios which would be helpful when you get a tuner to create a chip for your L.

Its great to have a baseline to start from. You will know what parts are giving you gains and what arent.

Will dynoing your truck stock save you money in the long run.DEFINATELY.
How would you like to spend money on a chip or other mod to find out that you thought it did something and found out that it only added 5 horsepower. The only way to know is to have a base #.
Is it an exact science,No. But it helps.

VINNIE

I am very glad I did mine.

Well, It's not like you would take that mod off and send it back to your tunner if it would only make 5 horsepower. But I guess it is good to know what you start with.
