Dyno results, have questions...

I went to REM and Paul tuned my truck for a little while and this is the best combo we could get......

What's holding the horsepower down? I've got very high torque numbers but why is my horsepower so low. I was expecting aroung 10-15 more hp. But overall i'm very happy .This is on a Mustang dynometer. I've been told that this equation will convert your numbers to a Dynojet....
(Mustang HP X .9) / 2615 + 1 X Mustang HP = Dynojet HP

All feedback apperciated

-Brian

*EDIT*
My mods are
2# upper
4# lower
Filter kit
90mm mass air
Ported Plenum
Borla Catback
Factory Tech valve body/ tranny pan

What were your a/f ratios? Are you tuned really 'rich'?

Hey Brian,
I had the white supercrew that was at REM today.Did you notice on the graph it only showed up to 4500 rpm's.My graph did too, which would explain only 8-8.5lbs of boost. At 5200 rpm I normally see 10-10.5lbs. My max hp @4500 was 293.1 at the wheels. Is 293hp enough to push a 5500-5700lb truck 13.9 in the 1/4 mile?? Seems weird.

See you around,
Frank

I had my truck on a mustang dyno with my REM diablo chip, a 5lb lower, and ram air setup. I made 401.2rwhp and 461.8rwtq. According to your equation that's 456rwhp on a dynojet.

Could have something to do with the rpm readings, mine are at 4750 and 4500 while yours are taken at 4250 and 3000. I would give Paul a call, I'm sure he can explain everything to you, he's good at answering questions...smart guy Paul is ....JR

Oh, i know, been there a million times, it's not that he didn't make a big change in my hp and torque. I gained 20 rwhp and 70 rwtq by just putting the truck on the dyno and having him tune it, compared to the mail order chip. I can't believe the power this thing now has. It's a whole new truck

Hey Brian,

Nice numbers man. Im sure you thinkin the numbers are low is because of the Mustang Dynometer...

It's 10.30...and I'm too tired to give a long explaination, suffice to say there is a very good one and it has to do with the test procedures that I as a tuner prefer to use. I'll post an answer for you all later...For now, just ask Brian and Jon how there trucks run
