Rim-Tire ?'s -Opinions

Hey I need a little info and some opinions on wheels
so here I go

What size tire are most of you running on a 20x8.5 rim also does nitto make a 20" drag radial
Next do you guys use the factory lugs with new wheels if you can or always get new they are already chrome covered with a nice lock plus I hear there a hard lug size to find...

Now for the opinions
I am looking into the KMC Clocker or Stealth's 20x8.5 chrome
www.kmcwheels.com
from
www.rimshop.com
anyone ever deal with them

thanks any input will be helpfull

THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLIES

I am glad I got all the info I was looking for...
I guess I should have posted about fuel filters or spark plugs
I guess I'll just have to learn from my own experiences not others
or post how a missing relay made me get new rims because it was a 20" Harley relay so I had to switch rims to get full boost
Thanks
I am sorry but I am so bored at work and am stuck here till 5am and it is only 8pm

Sorry for not dropping everything, and perusing the websites you posted. Next time, maybe you can get a few replies by posting pics of the rims you're interested in. Personally, I just didn't feel like clicking on a link and digging on a website to see what YOU wanted. Everyone else might actually have to work, or at least think about it.... If you're so bored at work, you're pretty expendable, so checking out your favorite website is probably not what you want to do while you're there.

Have a good night!

nitto doesn't make a 20 inch drag radial, if they did I would have one by now.

don't know about the rims or place.

I am running 295/40/20s and am very happy with them.pretty sure though that my 20 replicas are 9 inches wide though.

No , at this time nitto only goes up to 18 inch.

It matters which wheel you get for lugnuts. My replicas used the factory lugs but a wheel like Boyds uses a different lugnut.

Not to flame but next time just TTT the thread with a little joke or something.I just missed this thread the first time around.

I like my 18's but if I were to go 20's I would make sure the rim is at least 9" wide.

8.5 seems just a little narrow for our heavy trucks.

I would have posted a pic but I don't know how and tried several times. I don't expect everyone to drop and look for something for me. I assumed that most know what those wheels look like they have been around a while. I also asked a few ?'s that a I thought guys with aftermarket rims would know. I tried a search and no answer I looked on Nitto's web site no size there but niether is the size everyone uses.
As for my job being expendable I am not it is the nature of a shift work job wich you probably don't know to much about. I actually have a pretty important job or atlleast I think so -responsable for a 200million gallon direct filtration ozone disenfection drinking water plant that serves just about all of bergen and hudson county water here in Nj.
But when you stare at a screen for 12 hrs a shift you need to do something else also (Internet-tv) providied by company to keep you awake and alert just like free coffee
But who am I -I am expendable

Well, then I apologize. Trust me, my whole life has been shift (minus the t?) work, so I understand - it just seemed like you were jumping down the collective group's throats, because they didn't take a look, but I was wrong. :o

As for your job, that's great - I would call that pretty damned important. It's just that 90% of the people you see just don't feel like working, etc.... As for me, I'm the CIO of a consulting company... Not the biggest in the world, but it'll hopefully keep me out of shift work for the rest of my life...

Take it easy, and, now that I'm feeling less lazy, I took a look at the site - I REALLY like the Stealths - they would look GREAT with some Brembos or something.... Stock brakes may be dwarfed, though... The Clockers are nice too, but I don't know how they'd look on a Lightning...

Slick,

Get a hold of CHIKENEARS. He sells wheels cheap and HAND picks them so you never have to worry about returning them.
Also his service is second to none.

Chill out, bro.

As to your question, I would not run 295 tires on an 8.5" rim. Minimum rim width for a 295/40-20 is 10". I confess I have 9.5" rims, but I'm not even completely comfortable with that and would not road race them (I retained the stockers for race wheels).

Do they make a skinnier 20" that can handle the weight of our trucks....Tim..I don't think they offer a wider rim either that sis probably why they are cheapr than most 20's but I am going to take Vin's advice and call chickears up when I am ready

but if you know of a tire size tell me you input
