Dealer Emblems

My truck was scheduled to be built this past Monday so I hope to get it in the next two weeks. I don't want to have the dealer's name all over my truck. Does anybody know if you can request to not have it on there? If their emblems do get on my truck is it easy to take them off?

Just tell them not to put one on. Most dealerships will comply. If they do put it on, make your sales guy take it off.

I hate the fact that dealers do that....I refuse to be free rolling advertisement for them, if they want to pay me, I would keep the name on. Otherwise that is the first thing to come off any vehicle that I buy...

Just emailed the dealer and told him not to put it on. Still at least a week away from delivery so lets hope he remembers. We'll see what happens i guess.

Thanks

I only let them put the stupid license plate frame on, and then rip it off as soon as I get home. I'll be more than happy to advertise for them if they want to help out with the payments.

My dealer was headed toward the front bumper with their bracket... lucky for him he stopped in time. We don't have front tags down here, so holes in the bumper cover mean new bumper from my point of view.

All the other stick on stuff will just peel off the fresh paint with no marks. I like to pop off any chrome dealer emblems or vinyl tape, then hand them to the salesman just before I drive off.

If they aint sponsoring me, I dont wear their stuff.

I asked the dealer to take them off my L when I picked her up. They did after I had to hear some lip from the service manager about it. I told them to put a license frame on it, they did, I took it off as soon as I got home.

Use a hairdryer to heat the glue and it'll come off easier. If there's a bit of glue remaining you can wipe it with rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover to get it off no problem. Sme thing happened to me and my Saleen...I requested no dealer emblem, but it was on there anyways.

Tell them you won't accept the car if they are on their. My dealer, Village Ford, probably one of the worst dealers out there despite being in Dearborn, actually complied. Cept for the license plate. I took out my swiss army knife, unscrewed their frame, installed my Penn State one, and handed theirs back to the saleseman.

Just a word of caution regarding the use of nail polish remover or rubbing alchohol. These are very harsh products and may damage the paint, especially new paint.

A better choice would be wax and grease remover available from all major auto paint makers such as DuPont, Ditzler/PPG, Martin Senour, etc.
