Question Weld Draglight XP question

I am wondering if any one has a set of the 16x8 Weld Draglite XP rims on the Front of there truck. Also if the Weld Lug Nuts fit on the stock studs. How do you like these wheels, and would you recomend them as drag front tires.

Also if you have any other ideas for front wheels.

I am thinking of these as my rear tires

Don,

Check with RobG he had the Weld's so did Gambino if I remember right. They come ina 16x7 and the offset is perfect on the fronts and the rears to get a drag look.

Don -

I have looked and looked for the width and offset combo that would give the tire the best contact patch and keep those buggers tucked in as far as possible. I know Jim is your tuner as he is mine, but, I think the Bogarts through Johnny Lightning are the only rims that will meet what I want. They are not cheap alternative. Bogart & JLP will give me me the width that I want (11-12inches) and an offset that will keep the Hoosiers inboard. (6.5" backspacing.) After talking with Hoosier, I think that QT Pro needs the wider rim. You can also get a skinnier front rim (5-6") for your front tire.

After X-Mas & the wife's B-day this month I'm hoping the annual bonus in March will let me do this wheel combo.

JDM and REM also sell Bogarts.

Thumbs up Draglites

Hey Don, I think those wheels are great looking and if I did not already have AR Baja's on the front with my skinnys and my Hoosiers on the AR's in the back, I'd go for those Draglites in a New York minute, John H.

This is my plan

I am going to use the Eagle Alloy rims that I ran last season, and use them with the new 28x11.5-16 QTP's. These will be my street night tire, my track requires DOT tires on Wed and Friday nights.

On Sat, Sunday or when I travel to other tracks.I will use the Bogarts with the 28x10-16 Hoosier Slicks. The Bogarts will knock about 15 lbs off the Eagles Alloys I ran last year.

The Welds are about 20 lbs each and with some narrower tires it should knock about 15-20 lbs off each front wheel, from the stock F1 tires and stock wheels.

It is a BFGoodrich Touring T/A tr4 Size p215/60/16

Wheel and tire weigh 43 lbs
Compared to 99/00 stock wheel and tire 61 lbs.

18 lbs x 2 fronts = 36 lbs of rolling weight

I used to have the weld prostar XPs for my slicks in the back. They worked great with my hoosier 28x10x16 slicks but i never used them in the front so I cant tell u how they are. I loved the ones on the back though! they hooked awesome but I sold them. Had to move on to bigger and better things HEHEH!

Thanks for the help guys.

Looks like I am going to do the Weld front/ Bogart rear combo.

I would have loved to do the Bogarts on all 4 wheels, but since the Welds are $125- $140 less expensive per wheel I think it is worth the weight penalty. Also I can drive to the track on the Welds, where the Bogart fronts are to fragile to drive on the road.

This will come in handy when I have to drive up to 10 hours to some events. That way I can put the 2 slicks in the bed, and drive with the Welds on the front.

Hey Vin want to sell those fronts.
