movie car destruction

who else thinks that there should be a law banning the destruction of classic cars in movies...ie the charger in the fast and the furious.

i was watching some movie today where they totaled a beautiful 62 (i think) 427 vette...it pains me to see that. a movie company bought a guy i used to work with 70 chevelle ss to put in a movie...they blew it up... cant they computer generate these things??? instead of hurting such beautiful creatures...

I've got no problems with it. It makes the others worth more.

what about that 427 cobra in bad boys. or the gt-40 in the tv show fastlane. im sure some of the cars are clones built for the sole purpose of being destroyed but the real ones...ouch! what about the 6 or 7 skylines they are using in the new fast and the furious. I heard that they have that many real ones and that by the end of movie shoot all but one will be destroyed. sad

I guess you never heard about the companies in calif crushing cars for emission credits. This was done so their factory's could continue to pollute the air. Most of the cars involved where 70's.

I think it was Car Craft magazine that was buying the cars and restoring them to their glory. The one I remember was a 71 Chevelle big block.........sweeeeeet

The Charger from F & F is on display in Orlando at one of the theme parks. I think it's MGM Studios. Saw it last summer.

I thought I was the only one that thought this way. I agree, it hurts my feelings to see any old classic destroyed. It's a shame!

I dont think they actually destroy expensive or classic cars in the movies, at least not the ones that look in perfect shape. Those are often on loan from somebody for the movie. They make replica cars for the destruction scenes and destroy those, the replica cars are crap, but they do what ever it is they do to make it look perfect on the screen ...

There was a beautiful '70 GTO that gets destroyed in the movie 'The Faculty', even though its not real, its still painful to watch ...

I cringed when that idiot driving the red Lighting in F&F checked the side walk with his front piece... he should have been building that truck up and puting all that n20 into it instead of that gay eclipse...now that would have made me actually want to buy the movie on DVD.

Ever watch the "original" Gone in 60 seconds by Halicki? Those were real cars.
How about Ronin, crashed 7 Audi S8s.

Ouch!
