Wanted to ask you about your kickpanels. They are Q-logic correct? How do you like them? Fit/Finish good? Color? Direct replacement or some modification needed? Is the imaging good? Did you have to bend the parking brake pedal? I've got some Focals I need to install and I think this'll do the best way with the least amount of modification, but just had some questions. Thanks for the help. You can e-mail any answers if you want, but I'm sure some others might want the same info.

They are Q-forms and they are pretty much the perfect addition to gain more highs for the system. They come painted to match already and they are really easy to install. I paid like 150 bucks for mine but I know I've seen them for more and less, all depends on where you go I guess. The back locations for speakers are useless as far as I'm concered so these are the only other way to add more the system. I still have doors speakers too, but the kick panels add just that much more that my system needed. Me and brooks have the same speakers and amp pretty much so I'm sure he'll say the same thing. Kicker resolutions are pretty damn good for the cash.

Yes, I am currently in Shelbyville. My parents moved here from Oregon back in March. This Christmas break has been my longest amount of time I've been able to spend in the area. I am heading back to Montana for school Tuesday afternoon. Any particular reason you ask?

Krix330cic(NJ) -
I never recieved a reply to that last email I sent you regarding your upper console and the end caps. Anyway.......your question...

I recently picked up a pair of the Utopia 165Ws for about $400 shipped. Such a good deal I couldn't resist, plus I've been wanting a set for the last 2 years, but anyway. There are pictures of my old setup in my signature and there is a link to my gallery in the sig as well. Those pictures are like 2 years old, since those I have added another memphis amp, picked up a new head unit, as well as two more Memphis subs. I will be installing a Expedition console (hopefully) over the next few weeks and plan on redo-ing all of the install. boxes and all. I plan on doing it myself, but I may get hung up when I try to use same of that fiberglass. Still have some to learn with that. Anyway the stereo equipment that I currently have in my possesion are:

Alpine CDA-7998
Alpine TUA-T020XM (xm reciever)
Focal Utopia 165W
Memphis 16-ST1000D amp
Memphis 16-ST3004 amp (i want to trade for a ST300)
4 Memphis 16-ST104D subs
Memphis PR93S (may get rid of with the focals)
Fultron 5x7s (getting rid of)

Future plans include:

Kenwood KNA-DV2100
Kenwood LZ-800W or LZ-700W
Gaming Console

And I better be done after that

any more questions?

yeah, i have the q-form kickpanels... you are supposed to bend the parking brake over to clear it, but i don't use it, so it stayed there..

i really like them.. the fit/finish is just fine.. make sure to order a bottle of touchup paint from q-form. you'll need it in the future. LOL people are always kicking/scuffing them.

they aren't too hard to install.. i had to move some wire harnesses around on the passengers side to get it to fit perfect..

overall, they sound great!!! i have 5.25" kicker highs in them & a 6.5" midbass driver in the doors.

hope this helps!

Thanks for the input. how would one go about bending the brake pedal? I use mine ALL the time and if I don't move it I'm sure out of habit I would mash it through my speakers in a hurry.

zbornac,

I'm in Indy and bought my L at Hubler off of I-74. If you're home during the summer w/ the L, possible trip to IRP for some timeslip gathering/ricer punting?

Speedin Bob -

Sounds like a great idea. I plan to get the truck to WFC6 this year. I had a last minute change in plans and had to leave the truck at home last year. I'm pretty sure I saw your truck in the back lots, but I may just be makin stuff up a year later. I have had the truck since August of 2000 and have yet made it to a track. I must be an idiot or something. You'll have to teach me some launching tricks this summer. I'll be here again in March for Spring break w/o the truck. I'll look ya up when I get back. Keep in touch.

zbornac: i believe the instructions said to use a crescent wrench to bend it over.. didn't look too hard.
