Question caltrac install question

I have a set of the caltracs that I bought used from ITSOEZ.. I tried to install them last night and man was that a chore.. Do you have to use a new leaf spring bushing? I was looking at the hanger and it does not look like it will open up wide enough to put the caltracs front bracket and the leaf spring in. Are the bushings that come with the caltracs supposed to be narrower than the originals?

You may have not got the right bushing with a used set. You should replace the Rubber bushing with a solid mount Aluminum one that come swith the kit. The person that sold you the used ones may have left the Aluminum one in their truck. Sal can get you a set of the Aluminum ones.....

No problem, its a common thing with the Caltracs, most drill out their stock bushings to install the Caltrac ones. SO when you remove the bars you have to leave the caltrac ones.

The aluminum bushing is the same width as the spring eye. The steel sleeve that goes inside it is wider. It is the width of the perch. The plates slip over the steel sleeve, then when the bolt is tightened down, there is clearance that allows the plates to pivot. Hope this helps .
