Question I Need Help Fast By Tomorrow!! Please!!

I have an 02

I have it at the service dept getting the Gauge pod put in..They are auto meters with boost bypass/ A/F (yes its worthless but cool) and the Tranny temp.

they are telling me that they have to drill the pan for the tranny..Is this correct?? SVTSPANK showed me his brass fitting spot on his from his webpage and I printed it and took it to them

I just wonder if the 02's dont have that spot and the 01's do.
since spanks is an 01

Any input would be appreciated..Remember it is an 2002!!

Thanks
Matt

DEIMATT - I have an 02 and would be glad to help you out with a digital pic. Let me know what you need.... Are you asking if the 02 has a bung on the oil pan for the probe or sending unit? On my F350 Power Stroke they took out the sending unit for the Oil Temp Gauge and replaced it with one that came with the oil temp gauge. On the F350 the probe went in the transmission. Let me know how I can help you.

Spankdog beat me to it. He is right. On the L it is pulged and on the 350 it has a sending unit.

The question screaming to be asked is why are you letting someone who didn't know about a test prot that is on every Ford automatic transmission built since at least the sixties work on your transmission?

Ahh this is a wonderful question..I personally know a service writer and the Asst Manager...Both were gone yesterday when I took it in..Their Guage man was reading the instructions on the gauge. So they called first..Which I like...Because they couldnt talk to the asst manager first. They werent gonna do anything til they talked to the asst anyway..just wanted to keep it overnight.

So yeah..its a good question..I just kind of jumped on it and took control....More proactive I guess..It was kind of a pain..But they get 80$/hour Labor...And will charge me half. So since I didnt want to do all this..In the end it will be worth it The assistant would of caught it..

He has an 87 Mustang with 1200 horsepower!!! runs 8's and an 01 cobra with a S/C that has 650 hp//wifes driver..LOL he knows what he is doing..

Anyway. Thanks for all your help..Everyone!!
