Yep, I did it tonight. I am now the proud new owner of one '03 DSG Lightning. Actually it's not scheduled to arrive until Thursday, but I signed all the paperwork tonight and now count the seconds until it arrives.
I had originally gone it to order this color, but the dealership already had one on the way, so we just closed the deal on this one.
Any recommendations on what to look for when I take delivery?
Now I've got to change my signature...Again!

Check for scrapes under the front bumper from when they take them off the truck.

Also check to make sure you got the right tranny dip stick.SUPERFORDS got the wrong one with his truck.

Hey thanks Vinnie I'll be sure to look for the scrapes. I had read the thread about the wrong tranny dipstick, but I didn't catch which one was right, the one with or without Mercon V on it?
Thanks for all the help and information you all have given me here in the last 18+ months. You are all the reason why I chose to buy this L. Well most anyway.

BTW I'm still waiting on pins and needles for the call from the dealer to tell me to come pick up my new toy.

Congrdulation on getting an L!

 

Picked it up last night!!!
What a rush, much nicer than the '99 I test drove a while ago (absolutely no offense intended to anyone with a '99 or any others, the one I drove was beat HARD and was still stock).

I've noticed one thing so far that I really like (other than the power, looks...etc.) that's the ride. It has stiffer suspention than my "01 Screw, but it doesn't bounce like the screw did. What I mean is that I have speed bumps in the complex where I live, the screw would bounce after going over the bumps but the L just rolls off and is rock solid (I go very slow over the bumps, but they are almost square instead of round).
I know I'll find many more things I like about the L over the Screw. This is only the beginning.

I haven't seen a DSG yet and thats what I ordered so I'm having second thoughts and I'm thinking about calling in and changing to Black......
