Just wondering how an L stacks up

When I was at work tonight a regular came in with his new car. It is a 2003 Jaguar XKR 4.2L V8 Supercharger 390hp/399tq. Well he took me for a ride, and compared to my truck it flies, I mean it pins you against your seat, kinda like my dads muscle car does. And 0-90 went by pretty damn fast. It says that it does 0-60 in 5.3, no idea what the 1/4 time is. And it has a 6 speed auto tranny. It has been a while since I have been in an L, and I have never gotten to feel what they are like, I was grannied around in it. I just wanted to know if anyone has seen one of these at the track, and dose an L pin you to your seat, stock?

Yeah, a stock Lightning will pin ya back in the seat and a modded one will pull ya in the seat! That car is pretty quick. I believe the 01/02's 0-60 factory quote is 5.6 or 8.

im not sure about that but i know that the s type r has no limited slip differential, so the 1/4 mile times were slower.

Well this thing with traction control turned off could only leave 2 feet of rubber. It left to marks, so I am assuming it had a LS. If you pay 90k it should come with it.

XKR is a bit lighter, so it should be close.

Only problem with the Jag is the computer tune, they're tuned to be "classy" cars, so no "raw" feelings. It'll be tough to get an S-Type R to burnout.
