Should I Add 2# More Boost Or 25hp More Nitrous?

I am thinking about my next performance mod and was thinking about switiching out my 3# lower for a 4-5# lower to run along with my 75hp shot of nitrous or keep the 3# lower and upping the nitrous from 75hp to 100hp. Which one do you think I should do? Also keep in mind I am running the factory rods which I would like to stay inside the block!

I would say up the pulley size so you can have some fun all the time on the street. I'd like to see you use a 50 shot first and have your chip tuned for it. Either way you go make sure you got some good fuel.

DaveRed99- I am not sure that a 6# lower with a 75hp shot would be a good mix with the factory rods!!!

Red gen 1 94- If had a spare motor laying in my garage and a Snap-On box with one of every tool they make I guess i wouldn't be worried about it blowing either.

Justin- I have been running the 75hp shot for 2 years now with zero problems.

I have run the 100hp shot one time and it felt like my truck was going to lift off the ground. The 100hp shot felt twice as strong as the 75hp shot. I just wish I knew if the rods could handle the 100hp shot along with the 3# lower without me running into troubles down the road.

Any suggestions?

I was told to stick by the following....

2/100
3 or 4/75
5 or 6/50

The 99's & 00's seem to handle a tad more though....

Thanks for the reply Rich. I guess there isn't but one way to find out.

I guess I could always go up to New Jersey and clean up Jim's shop in exchange for a built short block!!

I've got a 3# lower and a true 2# upper ( Sean Hyland ) and run a 75shot w/zero problems for 8 months!!! I'm about to go to 100shot!!! I've got a motor on the way though!!! I thought about doing what Justin said and upping the lower to a 5 or 6 #er, but I can't hook on the street already so it wouldn't be much fun!!! When the race counts is when I running the N20, so I'm voting to up the nitrous!!! TUNE, TUNE, TUNE!!!

I agree. Why stress the motor more all the time when driving instead of just upping the shot at the track.

I say stick a 10lber on that truck. You never drive it and it gives you something else to polish.
