Since the new 0W20 weight has come out, for you Mobil users are you going to switch to the new weight or stick with 5W30?

 

I run 0W-40 as per Sals' recommendation. 20W oil is too thin for these engines.

I found out 0W20 isn't out until March at the earliest. With supply chain issues, expect not to see it until June

 

I think our climate here is more suitable for 5w-30. I'm running the Mobil 1 5w-30

I've been working on a case in the bay area all week, should be back in town friday night. Don't think I told you, we moved to Atwater to split the commute difference for the two of us. Still in Fresno most weekend nights, so I'm sure we will bump into each other. Let me know what you guys decide about a meet. I can't go south to LA on Sunday, but I'm available Friday or Sat. nights.

 

Mark you did tell me, I just didn't know when you were moving. Just pick a night and you and Doris can meet me at Starbucks? Maybe the guys from Visalia can join us too.

 

I use mobil 1 5w 30 super syn and my engine is very quiet, No noises of any kind. I will always use it in the lightning now with 8100 miles no problems I know someone who has a 02 here and there's had an engine knock or marbles sound. They changed to mobil1 5w30 and no more noise an I heard the thing knocking that oil is great stuff dont know why the engine likes it but i'm sold

 

James and Mark, I think I can make it up to Fresno Fri or Sat night. I'll know for sure on Friday, I might have to work.

 

I use 5-30W and a K&N gold oil filter.... almost 15K and NO marble sounds or anything.
