While running tonight, I noticed that there is a clean Gen1 parked right around the corner from my house. It doesn't have the goofy blue stickers, the only way to tell it's an L is the wheels, front facia and seat covers (of course I looked inside. heh)
I'm tempted to knock on their door and introduce myself as a neighbor with a Lightning too... heh. Has anyone done that? Just sought someone out to talk about their truck?

 

yup, its a great icebreaker to get to know someone...plus you never know they might be a mechanic or knows someone who owns a performance shop...then you can get cheap work done!! j/k

 

Or, worse case scenario, it's just an owner with a truck, doesn't know what it is, or care... met quite a few of those, one was even a Gen1 owner

Next to where I work there is a fast food restaurant. I saw a 2001 Lightning pull in one day. Since I wasn't busy, I left work and talked to the guy for awhile. Now, he comes by my work all of the time and has helped me pull my engine and tranny couple of times. I took a chance now I have a good friend. He may be the oldest Lightning owners. I've never asked his age I guestimate at approx. 75. He got a ticket last year doing 100 in a 70.
