Thumbs up Damn!! FT VB hits hard

Well, I got my FT VB put in on Saturday and all I got to say is holly chit!!! I was testing it out on a narrow backstreet with cars on both sides of the street. I got on it and on the 1/2 shift, I almost hit the parked cars. It basically slid sideways. I knew it would be hard but damn. I hope on the strip I can stay in it. The shifts with barely any throttle are hard as well. Maybe it's in combination with my chip?? I think on my reburn, I'll have it set back to stock on the chip to see if the cruising shifts lighten up a bit. Anyway, big grins were had.

yeah, the FT vb rocks!!! my chip is set for no increase in line pressure over the factory settings, and going from the stock vb with line mod valve to the FT vb makes it a whole different truck! tied for best mod with the JDM silver bullet IMO

very strange...

this is interesting, because I just installed a FT valve body in a friends 2000 truck last thursday night. His truck shifts EXTREMELY harshly now. The truck actually lunges forward on every shift even at VERY light throttle.

I am not criticizing, I had a FT valve body in my red truck and simply LOVED it and I already have one ordered for my new truck. That is why my friend bought his, because I so highly recommended it. however now he is complaining about the shifts and after driving it, I don't blame him. I need to contact Greg and see if there is anything we can do to remedy this. I tried to contact Sal, but was unable to reach him.

???

later,
chris

I was just checking with greg the other day and he recommended that when we put in the factory tech valve body, we have our chip keep shift points stock. It sounds like you found out it's true.

Rocks

Chris,

I agree with 03LightninRocks. I helped put one on my buddies truck and he already had his chip tuned for firmer shifts. Well he didn't get a reburn and with the addition of the vavle body his truck shifted very hard.

I ran mine on the stock shift settings and loved it.

thanks greg, I know that you stand behind your products 100% and are known for your superb customer service. I spoke to the guy on the phone last night, I'll contact him today and give him your e-mail. I just didn't know if it was a problem with the valve body or just something else we could fix or adjust on this end.

I'll have him contact you.

thanks!

later,
chris

P.S. I don't have your e-mail address and he doesn't use these boards(I'm not even positive that he has a computer), what address should I give him?

This, my friends, why the Factory-Tech valve body is the best mod for your trans.
Not only is it the best bang for the buck, but can the customer service be any better????????????

F/T valve body

Talk to your tuner about setting the shift points and adjusting the line pressure. If he has a chip this is where the problem is. I talked to Gregg about the tuning of the truck with his product pretty in depth over the net, and he said that Jim (from JDM, where my chip is from), and he had a long conversation of the setup witht he chip. I had them reburn my chip and what a difference. Shift is nice and firm, but not like it was at first. I was getting whiplash for christ sake and my girl refused to ride in my truck!!!

If you have a chip, reburn it and i'll guarentee any ??? you had about the v/b will disappear. It rocks!!!

Nothing like screeching, i don't mean squeal, i mean screeching the tires going into 2nd!!!

I took a local Chevy worshiper for a ride and we got pretty loose hitting 2nd, he almost **** his pants. Guess who wants a lightning now???

hmmmm...my truck will spin the tires up to a 35 mph or so roll if I mash it.....does this mean my line pressure is too high? I only have a superchip and a nicer MAF/Filter setup for engine mods. Sometimes I think she shifts a little too hard but it generally shifts soft at low rpms around town.
Every now and again though she will buck on me a bit at low speeds, but I think thats me doing it with my heavy foot or something. My tires dont squeel though unless I just goose her a bit and let off, if I smash it they spin and smoke like crazy but dont make much for sound....kinda wish they did though.
