2003 Stereo improved? and new baby's first burnout
hey guys, I'm bored, I just went to petsmart and bought miller a pooper scooper. have you ever seen a pooper scooper for a saint bernard?
just kidding. seriously though on the way to ps I was sitting at a light and decided to just put it to the floor on green. To my surprise the truck actually spun the tires for quite some distance. I am surprised by this because when I got my '01 truck I thought I had gotten a dud because it would NOT turn the tires over AT ALL. In fact it never did until I put a chip in. (granted I put the chip in prolly around 1500 miles or so, it might have eventually done it on its own without one). Also, it is January and cold now but it was May and warm when I got my '01, this may have something to do with it. colder air and colder tires? anyway, I was a little surprised since I only have 300 and some miles.
Another thing, IMHO, the stereo in this truck is MUCH better than the 99-02 trucks that I have driven. I hated the stereo in the red truck, and ended up replacing it, but this truck sounds pretty good for a factory stereo. I don't know if its just the new head unit or they changed something else, but it sounds louder and clearer with more bass too. also, I had wanted to put in a DVD/GPS system, but I'm hesitant to do so because I really like this 6 disk in dash deal.
oh well, i've got company coming over, off to scoop the yard

Chris I remember lot's of post about that myself. My 02 always roasted them off the line, but once in a while If I hit it just right it would hook when I first got it. Now I can't stop the SOB's from roasting the tires. WISH I COULD HOOK AGAIN ON THE STREET. When I have the upper on in the warmer months on top of the lower I run all year, I can't hook worth a schitt on the street. A dam Mop Head could get me off the line, a VW even
I practice what I call my one two punch off the line, but in the winter months, there is no off the line for me.

not sure richard, I have a couple of customers that come into the dealership that have white trucks, and my buddy mark at www.performanceautosport.com used to drive one around here all the time, but not lately he's got a red one now.
yeah, I heard about that guy going to the track with my old truck, I heard he couldn't get it to run very well, i suspect he hasn't learned how to launch it.
BTW, he brought it back to me one time to put some plugs in it. I loved that truck, I can't believe I sold it. driving it again made me KNOW that i HAD TO HAVE ANOTHER ONE.

Hey Chris, If you ever do pull that stock head unit, I want first dibs on it!!
I'm thinking 6disk in dash and 6disk changer would be sweet!

If it were engine breakin, one would expect faster trap speeds and dyno nunbers as the engine breaks in. I have never heard that.
I want that stereo, though. I'll keep looking on eBay.
