My father drove my L
I have offered a number of people the chance to drive it and few accept. My buddies with the $70,000 + sports cars Especially dont like the idea..
I just tell people dont go for more than 1/2 inch of throttle unless the truck and the road is straight AND to stop the madness let off the gas and ease on the brake..
Mant people find driving a truck different enough. Driving a truck with that much power is too much I guess..

I let my wife drive it the first day. She went around the
subdivision block and said "That's nice..." I have let my
two daughters drive it, and the oldest one (26) came back
all cranked up. She says, "I killed a Porsche!!!" "It was
so cool!" and "You wouldn't believe the looks I got driving
the Lightning!" and "That truck is Sooooooo bad!!!"
When I went out to the truck (Which I had washed that day)
the rear wheel wells had accumulated all this rubbery looking
substance. <LOL>
I told all my children that if they were gonna "punch it",
to make sure that it was pointing straight and the roads
were dry. Other than that, the service manager at FORD
is the only other person to drive it (other than other Lightning
owners for diagnostic purposes only).
Needless to say, "leadfoot" isn't allowed to drive it anymore.
That's all I need, another motorhead as a future son-in-law.
MM ... The daughter you met the other night is not the racer
<grin> She's the lawyer ...

My dad loves taking my truck for the weekends and going out to visit his buddies and rip it up. My dad's had allot fo carts in his lifetime, from vettes with nitrous 100shots all the way to an old pantera. But he's so hooked on my truck and the power it has when you lay the hammer down and destroy a vette with a plywood hauler, HAHAHAHAHA.
I'm showing him pics of the 2004 L now to try and talk him into it. He keeps on saying that he's to old for a sport car, but he's full of crap. HEHEHEHHE. I'll work it out and get him into somthing sporty again cause even though his new DTS is pretty quick and fun to drive, its still a not sporty enough.

my dad drove the truck the night I put the Factory Tech vb in, there was a supercharged toyota TRD pickup on our *** that thought he was hot *****. so my dad pulls out, waits for the guy, straightens it, and stomps it, blowing away the F1s and the TRD (
) second gear at 5500 RPM kicked the *** end out, at which point he got out of it and straightened it. the TRD driver didnt come to the next light, he turned off immediately

I let my girlfriend drive it twice, but I guess she was too afraid to be mean to my truck hehe. I let my dad drive it the day I got it, but he wouldn't jump on it then either. I let a guy at work try it out but he wouldn't punch it. I suppose it's better that way
I met another fellow L owner in my city this past summer. He let his girlfriend drive it for a day, and she totaled it in the rain on an onramp.
I must admit I made the same mistake, this being the first vehicle I couldn't floor in the rain. I almost spun it out the 2nd day i had it! Needless to say it was an eye opener for me. My girlfriend only gets to drive it short distances during the day when it's sunny and warm, and never alone.
