i don't know what looks worse, the new lightning or mustang. Yuk. How can you compare the badass looking 03 cobra to that eyesore??? The new lightning looks like the friggen chevy ss pickup concept.

Now the powertrain and specs on these new animals is a whole other story all together

 

I Like the new Lightning, plus who cares with 500/500 and a built in 50hp blast off button, "I'm getting one when the time comes". It'll get re-designed and confined before we can buy it anyway. As for the stang I like the back, but not to fond of the front, although the 2nd pictures of the fastback is much better.
To tell you the truth I hate the style of mustangs they have right now other than the 03 cobra, so they were due for a change anyway IMO

It works both ways. It depends on what you consider to be attractive I guess, and opinions probably fall pretty much along age lines.

I like the subtle retro influences of this car. It's about time to step back to the fork in the road and take the other turn. The current mustang is the result of being thrown off track by emissions controls in the 70s. There's no telling what the Mustang would look like today if they hadn't been turned into super Pintos in the mid 70s. This concept is a good approximation I'd say.

We can't even keep 04/05 Lightning topics here for more than a few hours.

Just joking guys and gals. Had a hard day today. Contractors are demolishing part of our shopping center and the guy operating the very large oversize back hoe smashed into one of the major transformers for the center. We were without power for 5 hours and lost about $5K in sales and I doubt we will get it back. That would have paid for a mod or two.

As to the looks of the new Mustang, the new F150 line in general and the new Lightning in particular, these things tend to grow on us over time. My take is the mechanicals are getting a lot of attention and that is the heart of the vehicles. The soul is the styling and that is a very personal thing. Whether it is a Mustang or a Lightning, my thinking has pretty much alway been that we are looking for the ultimate in performance and we have been pretty fortunate in that regard.

Ok, I admit it, Your right Odin's Wrath, I just said I liked the 03 cobras not to **** people off here, I actually think all current stangs are fugly to tell you the truth. As soon as this style ended, I gave up on stangs, gt's and cobra svt's.




This is the Cobra I got rid of to get the Lightning. I had the oppurtunity to buy serial number """1""" thats right #1 of a 2002 Rousch Stage III Convert and I simply didn't like it so I bought the L. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE IN MY LIFE.
Who knows, maybe the new stangs will grow on me ???
