Leftovers...

Just found a leftover '02 L' at a nearby (within 75 miles) dealership. Have yet to hear from them since I emailed an inquiry last night. I've got a '00 H-D F-150 with 8,500 miles on it that I would part with if they offered me a reasonable sum on the trade.

Gotta have the SC mill!

I'm off to the Kelly Blue Book site to find out the bad news...

Good luck,

you should get a nice offer. 8500 is low, and they have an 02. you should be okay. Don't let the dealer fool you, your truck is in demand.

My truck books for $24,000 outright, $21,000 trade. Those figures are sans tonneau cover since if I do this, I plan to keep it for the L'. Still have to talk turkey with the stealer.

The demand around here for two wheel hot rod pickups isn't what it may be elsewhere since the winters are long and sometimes severe. Most people here are on the practical side when it comes to vehicles.

If I did get the 'L, I might just be willing to part with my '70 350/350, 4 spd. Nova since the need for speed would be satisfied by the 'L.

I pretty much bought the H-D F-150 on a whim since it was available and very reasonably priced. Ford wanted it out'a there!

One question... How would I go about aquiring a PIN for X plan?

i guess you really are gonna trade the HD in. o well, you should get a decent price from it though cuz it is such low miles and you've taken great care of it. keep us posted in the HD forum if you do trade the HD in

Yea dude,

It's all but a given! I love the truck but the L' is on it's way. I've yet to discuss it with the other half since we have conflicting work schedules in the winter. Time for some pillow talk tonight. It all culminated very quickly!

I've lusted for an L' since 2000 but couldn't do it until I dumped a house and property. Then I couldn't find one. Came across the H-D by chance and picked it up for $27000. They offered me $23500 for it sight unseen over the phone today. I feel as though I'm making out alright. I've had the truck for two years and enjoyed the daylights out of it. Was never really impressed with the power or lack-there-of. I shouldn't be wanting for that in a week or so!

if you came down to south jersey to sell your HD, you could most likely get 27K for it with the extreme low miles you have and its awsome condition! The dodge dealer up the street sold a used 01 HD with 8K miles on it back in june for 33.5K, and the thing was filthy cuz the owner was using it as his personal vehicle cuz he liked it so much. They'd sell your 00 for 29-30K easy!

Hey #356,

See my '03 DSG L' onthe ground thread... It's a done deal! Got the purchase past the financial advisor(My lovely Wife). Taking delivery on Friday afternoon. They backed it off the carrier and pulled it in the shop. I requested the salesman to let no one but no one drive it. He said rather than take it to the gas station to fill it up he'll give me a voucher to redeem a full tank upon purchase.

Check your email...

Search for the "Delivery inspection for the Ford Lightning"
and there is a thread here that goes over all the "points"
that you want to look at.

Some of them are:

Bed Alignment with Cab
Hitch Alignment with bed
Washer movement on the lower control arms
Key not extracting when Ignition is off. (Stuck in)
Rear Window seal leaking

And much much more ...

Good Luck ... Forewarned is forearmed

SVT_KY,

Thanks for the input. I'll give it a look and go over her with an eagles eye.
