Headers for a mustang
Headers for a mustang
I was wondering if anyone knows what the difference between the long tube headers a select few are selling for the L and ones for the 2v mustang? Could the mustang ones be used and just some modification (needs to be done anyway) to the cat pipe?
I would assume they wouldn't be bent to fit properly in the L, I'm sure things would be getting in the way, or it would be hitting the firewall or something ....
I dont know this for sure however ...

Tommy, I had MAC 2V Mustang headers on my truck when I ran the 11.20 last year. They are not bolt in, but I was able to get them to work. The pass side did not need any modification, but I had to rebuild one of the primary tubes on the drivers side. I also didn't use the EGR port, since I had mine blocked off. They were kind of tight to the trans at the collector since the Mustang headers angle in. I had custom pipes made to go from the collector to my Bassani cat back, with no cats. It worked well, but wasn't the easiest or prettiest setup. I still have them.
Keep in mind, steer clear of the MAC headers. They arent finished properly and they have TOO much exhaust scavaging going on with them. I had to redo all my valve seals when i put them on my cobra. BBK is a better design. As for the L, stick with headers made for them. A lot less headaches.
