This truck drinks too much gas!!!!

I picked up the truck on Tuesday 12/31/02 with a full tank of gas. On Thursday after 130 miles I only had 1/4 tank and it took $25.00 to fill it up again. I am going to have to use my beer money just to get gas for this thing. Decisions, decisions, to drink or to drive the L?

Get used to it...

These trucks were never meant to be fuel misers

it's still new, my first tank seemed to go really fast too. I just filled up for the second time and I believe the tripometer read 300-350 miles for that tank of gas.

later,
chris

Best mod for the new L is a blind eye to the fuel gauge. Just fill it up and stop thinking about it. Use a CC and at least get frequent flyer miles out of it, got to stay positive.

you need a daily driver, HEHEHEHEHE.

back when I was driving mine daily for work I was spending $400 plus a month on gas easy. I've only drove 3000 miles in the last year with it so gas is no biggie anymore for the truck.

yeah but at least the lightning gives you exactly what you want EVERY time ... I like filling my truck up though, its like Im feeding my pet beast or something. I dont even look at the total, but I know its about 36 bux or so if my fuel light is on when I fill up.

Just think that about 30% of what you pay goes to the government. That always gets me in a happy mood.

Do what I did........never fill it all the way up. Then it only costs like $15 for each trip to the station. I used to never go over 1/2 tank and usually only had 1/4 tank in it. Well unless I was driving somewhere far. Sure you have to go more often but it is fun having people check out your ride when you pull in to fill up anyway.
You never know when you will get into a street scuffle and that 25 gallon tank is heavy

For some reason I always like to run all the old gas out and put nothing but fresh gas in..probably doesnt make a difference but in my mind it does. I dont think I have used anything but Chevron for the last 2.5 years

Or like they did on Monster Garage - take out the gas tank and make it smaller. That should drop your fill up cost

My HD MPG makes me long for my 2001 L.. I got about 1 MPG better in the L!
