Can you turn a "skinny" console into a "wide" console???

Can/has it been done. I found an expy console, which we all know is hard to find, but it's the skinny one. What are the differences in the 2 consoles other than the arm rest. Can I get a wide armrest and put it on the skinny console? Does anyone know how I can make this thing work

Thanks,Brian

Unfortunately, it's not just the armrest part... It's the whole compartment in the console. There's not much you could do to convert it...

Sorry...

it won't work. besides having the skinny lid the upper opening is also skinnier. a bigger lid would look really weird even if it did fit

check out www.lwm.cc they've got some expy consoles there for good prices, both styles too

On LWM they only have tan ones, you can paint the plastic right?

yeah, pick up the paint from ford. you can also dye them, not sure how it would work though dyeing it to a gray, but for black it should work with the dye.
they have gray in the old type though
