B-Quiet!

Has anyone used B-Quiet for sound deadening in their L's or HD's? I'm looking to do the entire cab of my HD and their price is good. How is their quality compared to dynamat and cascade? Thanks.

-Mark

P.S. - There is a L in the installs section - anyone from here?

It is ok for the floors, but I wouldn't use it on any vertical surfaces.

It gets real soft when it is hot, which can cause it to come loose and slide down.

Which of their products was bad on vertical surfaces? I see them recommending the "Extreme" line for doors.

I used it

I used their extreme (two layers) of every surface.

Their old stuff (which they no longer sell) had problems holding onto vertical surfaces, but not the new stuff.

I'd recommend them, very nice company. Check out my gallery for pics. (or the b-quiet web site)

I have 2 layers of Dynamat extreme on my entire interior. Had it there through the entire summer - never moved an inch. I applied it, then used a heat gun, and rolled it out. You don't NEED to do the heat gun step, as the adhesive is VERY sticky, but I think smoothing it out helps alot with what Don was talking about.

Either way, you won't find a huge variation with the Dynamat Extreme-type sound deadeners out there. I got 100sqft of some Dynamat Extreme-wannabe stuff off of ebay for $100, and we did my friend's car in it... Other than the logo, you can't tell the difference. - That's enough to do 2 layers on the entire interior of the Lightning, and at half the cost of one layer of Dynamat.

As far as actual sound is concerned, I doubt that theres anywhere NEAR 1db difference between all of the similar products out there. Granted, 1db is a big difference, especially if you're into db Drag competitions, etc, but in a real world application, you'd never notice a difference.

In the end, don't spend too much more on a product that claims to be superior. The only thing I've EVER seen that is truely superior to Dynamat Xtreme's design is made by Focal... They have a sound deadener which is absolutely incredible... Second to none. Problem is, it's about $50 per sq/ft, retail....

So how much sq.ft. did it require to line the interior twice over? I've seen the 100 sq.ft. auctions on eBay for $100, and been thinking heavily of it, as I have a very droney exhaust, and basically a pissed off mood to all the noise around me

100sq ft

Left me with about 20ft left. Just enough to do the roof if you choose.

I'd probably go with their brown bread if I did it again. Equal to 2 layers of extreme and just as quiet.

Try this stuff. Good price.

I have two layers of this in my truck. Easy to install. No heat gun needed. Smells a little at first but goes away after about a week.

Thats great news

When I used it it was back in 2000 so maybee it has changed since then. The stuff back then was junk, it is good they improved the product.

I will admitt they were easy to order from.

It took me about 120 sqft. I did 2 layers on EVERYTHING. I took the ENTIRE interior out of the Lightning... Dashboard, etc. Put 2 layers on all of the metal, and even put a layer on everything else I thought would vibrate and make noise... Inside of the dashboard, kick panels, door panels, (actually ALL interior plastic pieces I could find...), and my truck is SICKENINGLY quiet.

If you hear a rattle or vibration in my truck, something must have broken.

Price-wise for REAL Dynamat Extreme is about $1000 for all of that. I get it through my friend at Best Buy for alot cheaper - cost me about $300.

i did b-quiet and vertical surfaces with zero problems. I cannot honestly see how it would come off. Trust once you lay this stuff down and roll it out it will not come up.

check it out for yourself:
