On the second page of that article the guy talks about running a 13.8 @ 102 in the Ranger and then climbing in a 2003 L and running a 14.1 @ 99??? Can this guy not drive?
And I think he meant he climbed in a 01-02 L, those are not the new wheels.

HI!... I saw that RANGER at the last AUTORAMA in DETROIT. They are stock LIGHTNING wheels that were widened, most likely by WELDCRAFT near DETROIT. The box was also minorly tubbed to fit those tires under it.
Im with BlueL .. id have to buy one for the stable. The only thing i dont like about the ranger is getting in and out of it. I have a 4x4 ranger regular cab. Getting in and out is hell. In this case however, i would suffer through it for the "weee!" factor.
Im going to do some quick measuring on my L when i get it back from the shop (windows/foglights/seat etc..) I may have to widen the rears a little. Thats a nice stance.
Whether or not they will ever build "junior"? I would think not. This is a ontime custom. That is a LOT of manhours they have in that truck. The L didnt need as many mods, they just dropped in engine , tranny, rear end. Played with the suspension a little and started sellin them. This thing has no real "platform". A lot of framework, firewall, tubbed, suspension ..more. Putting a 302 (or larger) in a ranger is not that hard, but this is a whole different world from what i see.
As for the thunder bolt ranger (which you can actually buy) Well, I wouldnt want one of those , but to each his own.
