Defenitely a cool ride....Don't think I would pay the money for one though....The L's are falling into the same category as early LX 5.0's...Alot of bang for the buck!!!! I wouldn't trade my truck for anything!!

I personally would love to have one. I'm not sure if I would trade my L for one, or if with 70 grand thats what I would buy, but they are amazing in my opinion. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if I could fit into one at 6' 3" but I would still love to have one.

I love Vipers. They're good cars, and are actually pretty reliable. My friend's cousin has had 2, and has his 3rd on order. He's the kind of guy who buys a car to actually DRIVE it... He put just short of 100k miles on his '94, in the 3 years he owned it. After that, he bought a '99, which he only had for about a year, but put over 20k on.

He never had a single problem with either of them, aside from replacing tires and clutch frequently....

Another thing to note, they're pretty safe, too! The guy let my friend borrow the '94, the same month the lease was up. My friend, being 18 at the time, wrapped it around a telephone pole, due to lack of driving skill... (took a 90-degree turn at 'around 40', let off of the clutch in 2nd gear before he was straight, and punched it - a$$-end slid, but he never let off of the gas!!!) Anyway, the car had $23k in damage, and my friend (and his girlfriend of the time!!) were just fine. Police estimated his speed to be near 70 at the time of impact. Also, note that the impact was from the REAR...

Anyway, I'd give up the L for one, if I could afford it.

I LOVE THEM, I was suppose to buy one instead of the Lightning. I searched and searched and searched and actually found 3-6 used ones ranging from hi 30's to maybe 65k, but being the poor man I am, I truly new it was out of my league. Plus I want the Hi-End Mod (ACR is it ?) and thats what hi 80's to 90's. SO instead I went for $510.00 for 6yrs. I live in a tin can and have absolutely no money saved at over 40 yrs old,
BUT I DRIVE A LIGHTNING

I have a few friends with Vipers, they are very cool and a lot of fun. I wouldn't mind a Viper, but I like the L better.

Here we are at the track

I love Vipers. I think they are the ultimate car, like the L is the ultimate truck. If my companies stock keeps going back up I'm hopefully going to cash in some options and buy one next year (fingers crossed) . I want a blue GTS with white stripes. Won't sell the Lightning though. If you have enough cash to buy a Viper after selling your Lightning... I'd personally keep the L and use the the extra cash to get less expensive sports car. Maybe a Supra, Cobra, or maybe a 1969 Corvette Roadster . Still sweet rides and you'd get to keep your truck.

yeah, i've thought a lot about it, and have went to a couple of the Viper Club of America functions and they are, in a word, awesome. A new(er) gen II GTS you can get for circa low-mid 40's and holds up pretty well as a daily driver. We'll see when the new year rolls around...

I would rather have a Z06 for the money. The Vipers I have seen at Etown don't seem to run too well, like anywhere from high 12's to mid 14's.

Of course if I had driven one then maybe my opinion would change. They look cool.

I like the looks of them, but at 6'4"/250 I don't *think* I'd fit too well. Never actually tried though. If I could sell my Cobra I could pick up a used one. Don't wanna sell my Syclone as it is just too much fun, not to mention I'd never be able to sell it for anything close to what I just put into it. And my L is my daily driver. Don't want a Viper as a daily driver. Oh hell, I have too much crap already...

i would love a viper, they definatley look bad ***, and i think they are kind of powerful my old neighbor had a blue one with white stripes (it was like 8 years ago, so that's all i really remember). though he said he had trouble keeping it on the road, and after a few years he used his McDonald's 50K a year car allowance (yes, just for his car) to get a nice black z3 convertible. he also had an 80's-ish ferarri (i remind you 8 years ago, things are blurry) which was put on a hydraulic lift and stored above the viper. that was his 3 car garage could fit his wife's new Jag Vanden Plas and Suburban with TV's. Reguardless of the possibility of all those nice cars, I never did go work at McDonalds

I have a '01 GTS for sale if you are interested. It has only 1,358 miles on the odo. and has never seen a drop of rain or a wet road. It is in MINT condition.

Personally, I think they are overated on the price. $76,000 sticker price is crazy.

Thumbs up

I rented one in Las Vegas. Awesome car with alot of grunt and you'll definitely stand out. We took it down the strip and got lots of smiles from the gals. My only complaint is there's alot of inperfections where the body is bolted together.
