Cost about $600, takes about 45-60 minutes to install.
BUT
First check to see if your local law enforcement has the tracker/receiver, if they do, check their recovery rate.
Second. check with your insurance carrier, some companies prefer (read as gives discount) for other brands but not Lojack. Again, check to see your local law enforcement have the appropriate tracker/reciver and their recovery rates.
Be advised though, there's no substitute for watching your L like a hawk...
Good luck...

Lo Jacks are complete junk. Why? Funny you ask...
They require a heliocopter and two ground units to work properly to recover your vehicle. Also, in Police Depts, Lo-Jack recovery isnt top priority. All it does is send a pinging signal, similar to sonar. As the units get closer, the meter sweeps as tone value increases. they still can be off a mile or two. Most Lo-Jack vehicles recovered are stripped. They also have the lowest recovery rate.
Invest in a nice GPS system you can track from home or office. They are worth the $1200 price tag. Search google.

Once the LoJack in the car is turned on to "ping" any police vehicle equiped with the LoJack equipment can drive right to it.
when my car was stolen-- the police found it in somebody's back yard 30 minutes after I reported it stolen.
Due to my geek side, I eneded up talking to the office about for 10x longer than I did about my stolen car.

Ah, NO. You do NOT need a helicoptor and one officer in a vehicle can loacte it just find.

I worked for LAPD. I did my share of vehicle recovery with Lo Jack and they are complete crap. Teletrac units give you EXACT location, including side streets along with address. We could recover Teletrac units 99 out 100. Lo Jacks were recovered 3 out of 100. Do your research.
And in LA, you need a chopper. LO Jacks are affected by garages, buildings and underground storage. You are very lucky to have your vehicle recovered with a Lo Jack.

http://www.gpshunter.com/Gps/Personal.html. This is what i use.
http://www.teletype.com/pages/tracking.html another good solution
I currently work in the Satellite Counter-Surveillance industry. I have worked with both of the above companies and their products are top notch.
Ive also have experience working with both Lo-Jack and Teletrac. Forget it, get it out of your head. RF systems are DEAD, gone and out of our lives in 2006 and are expensive to maintain with constant downtime. Its your truck. You protection is only as good as your investment to protect it.
