they make quality stuff, but it seems that they target people with tight budgets - some of their pricing is extremely reasonable when you start comparing them to bassani and such. as for hearing one no - but i have heard the offroad h pipe on a 2001 mustang, and it sounded SWEET (with flows).

I have one on my Lightning. Sounds good. Not top-notch quality like the Bassani or the Silver Bullet, but worth the money. As a matter of fact, I thought it sounded SPECTACULAR, until I heard Vinnie's Silver Bullet!

Main difference? It's not stainless. Keep that in mind, as you'll likely be shopping for a new exhaust in a few years, where the Bassani and the Silver Bullet should virtually last forever. But, when you figure that you can get 2 for less than the price of either one of the stainless exhausts, it's not a bad deal.

It comes down to 2 things: Do you have the money for the high-end exhausts? And, do you need/want it now, or can you wait until you CAN afford the high-end exhaust?

Personally, I dropped the sub-$300 because I wanted the sound, and the chrome tips. I plan on upgrading when I can afford to, though.

Good luck!

My idea is this, even though there is bad talk about flowmasters, there is still nothing out there that sounds like them! I'm looking for my truck to not sound like a damn ******* anymore compared to my friends mustang with a couple flows on it. I doubt I will lose any power as there isn't PROOF that power has been lost, but I'm talking about the mufflers only and keeping the stock piping. If it isn't going to be as loud or louder than just a flowmaster muffler than I'm not interested, especially since it isn't stainless steal. Also chrome tips don't mattter that much to me since I have the non-chrome rims and the chrome tips won't match well.

Don't expect any gains in HP the way these morons claim, pretty much no catback on any L is going to yield any gains and if they do its very very little that you won't notice.

Personally I would rather wait and save for the stainless steel exhaust and do it the right way the first time so you don't have to mess with it the second time. it might be twice as cheap but you have to figure in your time or the labor your going to pay also. You bought a $30,000 truck, why try and save 300 on an exhuast that we all know is not going to last.

Yeah, there's definitely no power to be gained, but who bought the exhaust because of power gains? The MAC is definitely not loud - but it is a complete cat-back only. If you only want a muffler, just pick up a Magnaflow or something... Or a Flowmaster, whatever floats your boat.

Personally, I bought my exhaust for looks and sound, and it was a good price. We can't all afford to drop $600+ on an exhaust, and that's what the MAC is out there for.

And, about bad talk about Flowmasters, who cares? No matter what product is out there, and no matter how good it is, people will talk bad about it. Flowmasters are loud - if that's all you want for the time being, then go for it. Heck, even if you lose power, (which is BS), it couldn't be more than 1-2hp or so anyway.

So, go for it, get the Flowmasters.

You just said what I've been thinking for a long time, and to hear someone else say it makes me feel better! So I'm going to get the flowmasters tomorrow! I'll fill you all in on the sound and if I can FEEL any differences! Thanks for all the replys!
