Angry Hit & Run

My silver L was side swiped today while parked in front of my work in San Francisco. No note left just paint and a 4" crack over the rear drivers wheel well. Can this be patched? or do need a whole new rear quarter?

Got a pic?, it can most likely be fixed if it's just a side swiped crack. Good luck,

Tim

I feel your pain ..

I was parked outside a restaraunt one time, when somebody clipped my rear end (cars parked at an angle) Took out my bumper, tow package, quarter panel, and tailgate. Funny thing is this guy witnessed it, went into the restaraunt and told the owner to call the police, come to find out he never did. So when i go out 45 minutes later this guy is long gone.. but we have a description of the car, a few pieces of the car for evidence, and by now a few people have said they saw it.

Cop told me there was no way they could find the guy, so he wasn't going to do an APB. I mean if it was me , the first thing i would do is call dispach for an APB , especially in a small town.

Pissed me off royal.. so i painted a big ******* You to the a****** who did this AND your moma, and drove the truck around town untill i could get it in the bodyshop. It was right at Christmas too so nobody was doing much.

On top of that, my insurance went up..

Oh well, cheers anyway

PS .. forgot to say .. dont know much about fiberglass but i hope you get it fixed the way you want it. Make them paint the bed off the truck. Period. No tape, no slime, make them take it off. Just my 2 cents.

thanks for the reply

Now that a day has passed I feel better. The cop who took my police report had messed up comment. He looked at it and said,"my truck's bed is metal, didn't these things were fiberglass, oh well that's the price you pay if you wanna go fast." That really ticked me off. Oh well my truck is now devirginized.

I dont know if you read my post on christmas eve.. i got nailed in a parking lot .... mines "devirginized" too.

And it wouldnt have mattered if the truck was metal. (actuallly it would) They would no doubt cut off the side panel and weld a new one on. Most of the shops dont want to straighten stuff out anymore. Its too easy to cut it off , use some body caulk, and paint.

That comment would have rubbed me wrong also. I know most of the deputies in my town and they are ok guys. Maybye the guy was suffering from Lightning "jealousy" I get a lot of dirty looks etc from people when driving the L , that i dont get when im driving my 86 bronco.

Just human nature I guess.

All flaresides are fiberglass. My 97 f150 flaresidee has fiberglass rear qtr panels. Go tell the cop he's a dumbass.
