Unhappy I need some help

I went on a 300 mile trip today, everything was fine, truck was running great, so on the way back I stop to eat, when done I go out get in my truck start it up, and the overdrive lite is flashing?, then about 20 seconds later the check engine light comes on?, so I put it in gear, no first gear, now im a 150 miles from home, and have no money for a tow truck, so I put the truck back in gear and start giving it a little more gas, now im rolling very slowly, so I head for the freeway. Once up to speed everything seems ok, but shifts very eratic when I have to slow down. I did make it home and will be taking my truck to the dealer in the morning. The only mods to the transmission are a factory tech valve body and a 4x4 deep pan. the valve body has been in my truck over 6000 miles. Does anybody have any idea what happened?, and why would a transmission cause the check engine light to come on?????.

Thanks

Larry.

I didn`t pull the chip, I will do that in the morning, its dark and raining like a **** right now. I don`t think its the chip, ive had this chip in my truck for 6 months and about 7500 miles with no problems.
I will pull the chip in the morning just to see what happens.

Thanks

Larry.
