Extended Warranty

Can I cancel my Ford bought Ext warranty. I bought this at purchase time not realizing I would want to Mod later. I think the warranty was over $1000. Any Help is appreciated.

Yep...call up the dealer and tell them you don't want it anymore and they will send you a check that is pro-rated.. You should get most of your money back. If you can't make it to the dealer they might want you to put it in writing and mail them the request...

I found the warranty and it says that the lienholder may have first Dibs on the refund and credit it to my account, since I financed through Ford Credit. If they do this will they lower the payments, take it off the back of the loan or just send me the refund.

if you financed it with the truck, I doubt thy will send you $$$. They'll probably deduct it from your balance of the loan...just my opinion... ..JR

Any refund amount is deducted from your loan balance. This is not necessarily a bad thing, just how it works. If there were no lien on your truck, then the money would come back to you, ort if you paid cash for the warranty.

Thanks guys, I think I will go ahead and cancel. No since in paying for a warranty just so it can be cancelled later. The warranty was $1600, thats almost 3 truck payments off the back of the loan. WooHoo, only 45 more payments.

I was wondering the same. Seems silly to pro-rate a warranty thats not even in effect yet.

Any extended warranty that is purchased at the time of sale (new car) starts the day the car is sold. Should someone purchase a 60/75k warranty, and then you are “replacing” the 36/36k warranty. I can’t say I really agree with it, but then I am not Ford.
