Rumors of the automotive type.

The Supra may be on it's way back! Hopefully, it will be just as sweet the third time around. Man I love my Lightning. I'd sure like to add this to the driveway, too.

What happened to the turbo's? Seems like Nissan and Toyota decided to drop the forced induction...so did Mazda on the RX-8.

Maybe later......... I doubt that the V6 will take the abuse the I6 was able to take. I hope I'm wrong about that though.

I heard a rumor that there was a twin turbo Z at Sema. Don't know for sure, but it would be sweet.

Well, the pic on the first site is actually a body kit for the Supra MKIV, produced by a company called Abflug, in Japan. The kit retails for about $13,000, and there is only one Supra in the world with the kit.

Toyota of Japan has, however, already released true sketches, and true preliminary specs on the car. On the second link, the second pic from the bottom was Toyota's sketch.

The car was going to be designed as a carbon fiber chassis, with a twin-turbo V8, producing 420HP. Retail was expected to be in the area of $200k, due to the cost of producing the chassis. Otherwise, the normal other specs are the usual 6-speed manual, front-engine, RWD. I'm looking at the site right now, off of Toyota of Japan's website, which still states the specs I read off. The expected release date for Japan is 2006, (as they are still selling the MKIV Supra in Japan), and there is no expected US release, as of yet. Considering they haven't even completed the concept/prototype yet, 2004 is definitely not a possibility.

If anyone else reads Japanese, there's a link right off of the home page, at www.toyota.co.jp.

Supra....whooohooo!

I"ve been waiting for the Supra's return for a couple years now...since I work for Toyota I hear the return is in the near future. I plan on using my Toyota employee discount (if I can) to ****** one of those up ASAP! I loved the last body style Supra and hopefully they only improve on it.

I agree, Orphaner... Even if I have to wait 10 years, or buy a used MKIV, the Supra is my next vehicle.

You drive a Canadian built pickup don't you? If it's a badassed vehicle, I don't care where it comes from. This is just the sort of thing that a lot of L owners would be interested in reading about. Admittedly, some would not be as interested. A few might just get a little ignorant about it.
What can a guy do? <----(rhetorical)

Foreign car's are OK with me as long as it is not a Mitsubishi.

Do a search on: Mitsubishi Bataan Death March
Then you'll see why

toyota are good vehicles. but i still bet the 03 cobras will cost a lot less and the horsepower is right in there with the supra. its hard to beat the value of SVT vehicles. i guess i am brand bias!

Still wouldn't sell the L for anything, but I would gladly add a nice supra to my garage stable of vehicles!
