The brakes are my one real complaint--SVT must have known that a 5,000 truck needs stellar brakes, yet chose to save a few hundred bucks in the wrong place, forcing us to spend thousand$ to cure the deficiency.
I don’t care what the world says. Michael Schumacher is no Ayrton Senna.
Don’t get me wrong, I think Mike is great, just not Senna.

The new Jaguar comes with Big Brembos, maybe we raid the Ford parts bin.

I would like to know how many guys on here are big F1 fans. My wife and I go to the USGP every year, and I think it would be great if we could get a big group of people going.

I cant even describe the sound of a F1 engine at WOT. Television just doesn’t cut it.

They performed fantastic at Limerock...absolutely zero fade through the whole day. (though I think I did the rears in)

The truck stops amazingly now... put that chocolate milk in the back, you'll be all set.

Dan, thats a really nice setup, where and how much did you pay for that setup?

Ayrton, I enjoy F1 racing, but would perfer NASCAR. I think Nascars sound bitchen when they are exceling off the turns!

I basically purchased the Brembos for looks. I never really had any problems with the stock brakes. I bought matching wheels for the slicks and street tires so I thought I would sell the used Brembo brakes for $1500. I paid $2K for the used kit last year from Azeem.

Then you MUST have the Brembos--they are the same calipers used on the F50.

BTW, I would think twice before disabling the ABS. Found this on the Web:

================
A car that can accelerate quickly is of no use on the racetrack unless it can also slow down quickly. The braking system on the F50 is up to the task, yet it is relatively simple. There is no servo assist, as the engineers felt that the size of the brakes made it unnecessary. There is also no ABS (Antilock Brake System) even though they are almost standard equipment on lower priced cars. It should be pointed out that ABS is typically not found on race cars, as a trained driver can effectively control braking without electronic assist. According to the Ferrari web page, "The smoothness with which the system cuts in convinced technicians that an anti-wheel lock system was not necessary."

As reported by Car and Driver in the January 1997 issue, the F50s brakes are not impressive. They were difficult to control (easily locked up, not the most efficient way to slow down) and managed to stop the car from 70 mph in 176 feet, longer than many lesser production cars.

Did somebody say Brembo's ?????

How about modifying these to fit:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1875202408

I'm sure they would make a slight improvement.

omg. Very nice.

Ciione -- you should pick up easter's for $1500 if they are still available, thats a great deal, and I know Azeem kept them in good use. The rotors are great, so there probably isn't much wear in on them yet, and new pads are easy to come by. I paid $2500 for mine used from another L owner... their retail is $3865 last I looked, but they are on "backorder", because the new model will be coming out.
