Z06 THIS... and a cute college girl!
sorry guys, no pics of college cuties here, but...
I heard my name called over the PA this afternoon at the dealership. "Chris Haynie, please come to the service lane". as soon as I get through the door I know why they've called me. There was a very attractive young lady standing in front of my service writer's desk wearing her sorority sweatshirt. My service writer informs me that she was having a problem with her Escape and needs someone to test drive with her to verify the concern. So far so good until I realize that her Father is standing there waiting to ride with me too
Anyway, we go for a test drive and unfortunately Dad rides up front and the lovely young lady takes the back seat as I drive.
long story short we couldn't get the vehicle to act up in the manner they were complaining about, but they did have one heck of a wheel bearing noise, so I told them to leave it with me and we'd take car of that problem.
On the way back to the shop we pull up next to a bright blue Caddilac Escalade EXT? IMHO the truck was ugly, but it was a nice shade of blue which is my favorite color. I comment on the color and the dad agrees. the daughter chimes in that dad only likes it because it looks like his Vette (I think they call it Electron Blue?). I ask him what year/kind of vette he has and he responds, "Z06".
Ironically enough just last night I went to the Virginia DMV website and reserved the plates for my '03 SONIC BLUE Lightning which is scheduled to arrive within the next 3 weeks or so. Here is the plate:

Anyway, of course I had to tell dear old dad about the plates that I had ordered. He was a good guy, even challenged me to a race once my truck arrives. Then he proceeded to tell me about his buddies Z06 that recently ran 14's! I told him that those cars are awesome, but apparently can be difficult to drive to their fullest potential, and that I'd be more than happy to line up Sonic Blue versus Electron Blue ASAP.
I guess you had to be there, and sorry no pics of the lovely young lady, but maybe soon I'll have some pics of a blue vette in my rear view mirror.
later,
chris
