Rumors are just that rumors.
unless it came from Ford Execs. I wouldn't worry about it.
If it gets delayed Fine, its a delay not a scrap, Yes it will be disapointing but not the end of the world. there will always be rumors from people without ALL the FACTS, it's human nature, I wouldn't loose any sleep over it.

I heard recently is getting delayed for a reason, to improve the truck so it beats the SRT and Chevy's new truck in every which way.

Ford want's the L to be back on top and for the rest to be playing catch-up for next few years. Like it should be!

Stated that the first priority for SVT is to get the new Cobra running, and that the Lightning has been put on hold till past 06.

The supply of Gen IIs in DFW has diminished recently. If someone EVER wants one, they should move on it now !

I hate to say it, but I was told yesterday that the Lightning has been officially cancelled as of now. I can't say who told me, because I was asked not to, but let's just say you don't get much higher that this in SVT. Hopefully they will change their mind, but for now, the Lightning is done.

Makes our 2004 Gen II's retain more resale value?

This sucks. I was really looking forward to the next generation. I was planning my car purchases around being able to get one in 2007. Guess I will just keep modding mine and get my wife a really nice car to drive instead.

Keep in mind that we're still 2-3 years away from when the Gen 3 was supposed to come out. A lot can happen in that time. SVT may switch the Lightning over to the Ranger platform or something else. Or maybe Ford will make a special edition new F-150 with a new frame that will allow SVT to build a Lightning off of. You never know.

Well, it is not all bad. Now that I know that the generation 3's won't be out for a long time I will put even more MODS on my truck. That is good news for you SAL. I have already sent you an email to that affect .
